The Kubler-Ross 5 Stages of Grief
Denial -- We were initially in denial that this game would be different from thousands of other freemium games that plague mobile gaming nowadays. This game is different from all the rest, we said.
Anger -- When our denial could not continue, we became frustrated, lashing out at the company and sometimes each other. It's not fair, we said. Why so greedy, we said.
Bargaining. -- in our desperation, we attempted to bargain with "big-business" ignoring the fact they hold all the chips. We'll boycott and stop spending, and if you change your ways NG, then we'll go back to playing/spending. A list of lovely proposals filled the Forums in a plea for change. Negotiating terms we hold no leverage in.
Depression -- The sinking feeling will set in that there will be no revolutionary change, and all our complaints are meaningless as NG will hum merrily along with or without us, and for every one veteran player that quits, 20 new players just downloaded this game. And our support of the "Occupy" Forums movement was a lost cause, and we just further stunted our own progression in game. We ask ourselves why do we even still play this game if we're just complaining everyday? We feel defeated, and tired.
Acceptance -- At some point, although we may not realize it now, will come to accept the fate & direction of this game for what it is, and understand this is now the way of the Freemium world, this game being no different than others. We may choose to spend less, or we may choose to depart. But, we no longer make ourselves miserable. We embrace the fact that we play this game to escape the stresses of life and there is no need to add more stress on a tablet/phone screen. And we embrace our guilds & friends here who have kept us playing. And finally, we embrace the fact that when it's all said & done, we players hold the ultimate power: the power to choose to play how we wish, or quietly delete this App in the middle of the night.

I think based on your stage 1, I was already at level 5.
I know what to expect from games I don't have to pay for.

I believe we are still at the bargaining stage since the council hasn't had a chance to speak with NG directly on the player's behalf yet.. I wouldn't jump to any conclusions yet , NG can still prove they are different than the other freemium companies. Eloquent post however

I am easily confused by other people's, laziness and sloppiness and greed...
Any guess who might " now " be on my list, ( in 2017 ) -
I figure it's better to try then to just quit , this game hasn't torn the optimist out of me yet lol .. we will know a lot more by the end if this week

The sooner the better, not least cos I miss my Bob Marley avatar......“You never know how strong you are until being strong is your only option.” (Bob Marley)

@Conan1976 I agree! My personal grief stages have been wildly fluctuating of late, but I too am hanging onto the bright light of hope that we as a Community can do something about it. The bargaining stage is a good place to be & I'm glad the council is there.
@Neil_J one love, let's get together & feel alright -

Whoa this older thread is candidly brilliant. And would seem many are still trapped in the 'Bargaining' stage and not at Accept stage yet

I past stage 5 long ago regarding this game and since then NML has no longer been my favorite game. I also stopped spending money and no longer devote so much time to NML. Life is too short for that shit. I value some of the friends I have made here but NML is IMO a sinking ship.
