Survival Instinct Activating w/ no Negan in Outpost

My guild mate raided someone with Abraham, Daryl and Jesus as the Defenders. Survival Instinct said it activated numerous times. Not sure if this is a visual glitch or what, but thought I'd report it.

Happened to me too a few times. Not a visual glitch, the defenders actually suffered less damage then normal.

+1 here. Outpost 50 cal 1527 Eastern Standard Time. Bruiser but not Negan. Trait definitely active. @Shteevie how about checking this one out?

Ahh, I thought I had this the other day. I was sure Negan wasn't in their team, but 2 of their defenders were dead when I noticed it.

To those posting in the thread here, I have a couple of questions:

-Was Negan in your attacking team?
-If yes, was he in the leader position?
-Were there any heroes other than Negan in either team?

Negan is intended to work for the defenders in Outpost play, but of course, the Survival Instinct trait should not be activating at all if Negan is not present in the combat.

I had a question similar to this.
During raiding, the defenders had Negan on their team but not in the leader position yet, survival instinct came into play numerous times. Is this a glitch bc I thought the purpose of leader traits were they were only in affect if the hero is in the leader position.

Hey, it just happened again. Accept this time Negan wasn't even a defender this time. Sent scout to grab the TG and accidentally shanked the bruiser instead. Abe went in for the stun and I dont know who the heck Travis thinks he is, but Negan is gonna be pissed he's stealing his stuff. Survival instinct flashes. You want the in game name?
(Pls ignore my lvl13 survivors, I'm at least a solid two upgrades behind on training grounds.)

Hello again, all.

I've created a ticket so that we can try to reproduce this internally, which will lead to finding a fix faster. One thing that would help, if you are fast enough to get it, would be a screenshot with the "Survival Instinct" notification on screen during a Negan-less match. This will help us find out the part of the turn cycle where the message is being triggered so we can hunt down the errant logic.

If you have fast fingers, please see if you can capture the message while it is on the screen. Thanks again for the reports and the detailed info!

You can see the "Survival Instinct" notification in a Negan-less match in my screenshot, @Shteevie
It is partly covered by the time-bar and the damage displayed, but I think there is no doubt what the notification says.
Did you miss my previous comment, or are you looking for screenshots captured more recently, or more screenshots?

I'm glad I'm not the only one experiencing this. I've been doing a ton of outpost raids to reach 5000rp, but my survivors kept getting heavily injured or losing due to defenders getting survival instinct when Negan was not present in the raid on either side. I've noticed it mostly happening with bruisers defending.

Typically there is a bruiser on the defense, just not negan. Perhaps they had Negan at one time but switched him out? Anyway, this is really annoying. Happened twice today and it is always a pretty tough time. If it is truly activating, which I think it is. I'd test it out by putting Negan in leader then switching him out, but I'd have no way to see the results.

Yo. ign: chtipsycho had a warrior, hunter, and shooter in outpost and the warrior flashed survival instinct twice before taking them out.
So again, neither I nor the defenders had Negan on their team.

Uing Glenn, Maggie and a random Hunter. Survival instinct flashes twice on the random hunter.

The issue is accruing unnecessary hospital time bc they should already be dead but instead they get another turn before we can take them down.

I hope this is fixed in the next update/bug fix update bc having the defenders get an extra turn when they should be dead is driving me nuts (read: pissing me off).

IGN: eddy. All defenders flashed survival instinct multiple times! No negan in sight. More bs. They wouldn't die.

Haven't seen this for a while, but it happened to me again a few times today. No screenshots, unfortunately (however I didn't notice anything special). @Shteevie, if you're still listening, one clue might be that I have Negan as a leader in MY outpost (obv not part of the attacking team).

Thanks for the continued updates. We'll be able to look into the accounts that are named here to see if there is a pattern. Per the interesting observation made by @szgerg77, we will also have a peek at the accounts of those reporting in here in case that shows a pattern.

We don't have a clear cause identified yet, and we may not get to it before 2.4 launches given that there is still investigation to do. We do have sometime reserved next month for hunting down tricky bugs and searching for optimization, so hopefully this issue appears in that chunk of work.

Just to piggy back off of this, I also encountered an Outpost where no Rosita was present, and her leader trait icon popped up when I was shot. I will look remember to log the username if it happens again.

Can I piggyback since you are talking about Rosita in the outpost? How is her retaliate trait supposed to work when she is a defender? I stab her from the right with my scout and she swings 180 degrees and retaliates against my other survivors that haven't even moved .

Is that the way she is supposed to work? Retaliate against any enemy and not the one standing right next to her that actually hit her?

That sounds like a potentially complicated situation. In general, I think Retaliate is always meant to hit the one that attacked you, but I would want to see it happen in action before I said for sure there was a bug here. I guess I'm on the lookout for Rosita defenders for a while...

I did a raid last night, it popped out when I was fighting random survivors. When I did another raid with Negan on the other team, the Survival Instinct didn't pop out

Made a video but I can't attach that here. SurvInst happened twice, started recording after the first. First time was a normal attack, the second (on the pic) was an overwatch attack: "Danielle" moved in "Glenn" attacked and interrupted her (couldn't take a better screenshot, lot of messages were popping up). Negan was nowhere near, the dead defeder on the bottom was a regular warrior.

Talking about weird things in outposts (like Rosita - I experienced that as well): Daryl has two strange things:
1) Defending Daryl's overwatch doesn't seem to work.
2) When Daryl shots at Daryl (weird in itself, I know) the retaliation seems to hit friendlies as well. Seen that for both the attacking and defending Daryl.

@szgerg77 Pro tip: VLC has screenshot function, good idea making a video, you really can't screenshot that in game.

I noticed that friendly fire too once, but it was just a graphic glitch, but better make a video to be sure.
