WTF!! Is going in the hard scavenge missions?

Ive got my characters up to lvl 19, albeit i have some on 1 pink star through hard work and spending ££. But to win a scavenge mission on hard i have to beat level 23 zombies. Piss take! 2 hits and im in a struggle. 3 turns and level 24 zombies turn up? Think this needs to be looked into as the rewards are shite as well for the effort involved. :s :(

Thus why they are called hard. All my survivors are Lev 20. I usually take Maggie as the leader for her extra XP and two assault, one of whom is 6-star. All are armed to the teeth with good armor. I use my charges judiciously and still rarely go higher than Lev 25 walkers.

Oh yeah i know. But since the pink star thing its made it impossible for me to win. If i had known about the zombies getting higher per pink star i wouldnt have bothered until all were lvl 20s. I used to be able to do it before that.

You have a couple of options.

    1) Stop doing the hard missions and do the normal missions. Others have reported the rewards are the same regardless of difficulty. So you'd only be missing out on the XP from those higher level walkers.

    2) Retire your pinks and build up new survivors. Hold off on taking the new guys to level 6 till you have enough tokens saved up to make the jump to level 6 with 4-5 of them.

I realize option 2 is a bit extreme, but that is a possibility if you wish to take it.

If you're upgrading your equipment, you shouldn't have a problem with zombies that are +4-5 higher. Just be careful where you're moving your survivors, and avoid corners.

I have advised many players in my guild to hold off on promoting survivors to 6 stars until you can get your main crew to 6 stars. Just head back to normal missions to avoid hospital time. The lower rewards outweigh the hospital time.

That is a disadvantage to getting a pink survivor. My current plan is to not turn any of them pink until I can turn most of them pink. But I doubt I'll be around that long.

In normal, just bring Maggie and shoot the z's early and bring out more spawn. Keep doing that till youre close to your max enemy level. Then get out. If you wait too long then you'll start getting too many 23 and 24's.

I have been doing quite a few Hard scavenge missions, fighting lvl 23, and it is my impression that the rewards are the same or even worse than normal missions. I seem to get a LOT of 17 and 18 gear, where on normal it is mostly 19 and 20. No statistics yet to back it up, but I know others who have the same impressions.

Gear missions suck. If you're expecting anything better than rare, you're going to be disappointed.

I don't think the gear missions suck.

But then again, my expectations are to see a gold crate once out of ten missions. And then to see a viable item once out of ten gold crates.

Hunting gear requires a lot of patience I've come to realize.

@Dodkong 100% right, but lot of patience not covers how big this patience really have to be. Though I´ve got recently several lvl20 leg pieces, Im usually not happy with traits, but have to admit, I´ve got ****ing lucky yesterday.

So one mission out of 100 you get something useful? You'd be better off doing outpost runs. You can get enough for a guaranteed legendary gear crate in about 15-20 runs...depending on your luck avoiding the idiots that block the goods. That comes to about 15-20 crates to your one for the same amount of gas.

That's what I've generally done. All my gear is legendary. Now I am just weeding out the level 18/19 stuff.

Among few other goldies, I've got this great pistol from 1min refill day. Maybe a little too "destructed", but it has "critical" value to my Sure Shooter ;)

When fuel is no object, I always get nice stuff from hard scavenges, so I don't agree with you Gebobs, sorry ;)

I have been doing the easy missions this week because you can get more kills. My 3 hunters can get all the way up to level 26 zombies. It's where you place you hero's and when you use the charge that they don't get hit.

I have done alot of hard equipment missions since they introduced them and overall my results have been terrible. I ran gas out just now doing them. One mission had two silver crates I watched movie to open second set. Got one silver crate that gave me rare gear. All other boxes I opened was either common or uncommon gear. I did same last night. Got one gold crate out of all that had an instant scrap rare armor. I can't say I've never gotten a good weapon from one cause I have, but for how many missions I've ran it has been disappointing. I have much better luck doing outpost raids. I know there's a randomness to this game, so I can see how some people are able to pull good gear, I must be on the low end of that spectrum. I don't even remember the last time I pulled a weapon I want to upgrade from a hard mission. I know I have but it's been too long.

The difference for me is that I'm still moving survivors to level 20. I'm also still hunting tokens to max out my perfect survivors. So I'd rather spend my TGs on the token offers than on gear right now. And, like @stuffnthangs, I'll take my chances with the RNG to get that random viable piece of gear from the gear scavenge mission. And, at the same time, I'll collect better xp from the scavenge mission than compared to the outpost raid.

At some point, I will shift my TG spending to gear, as it tends to be more of a guarantee. But right now, I'll run the gear scavenge missions.

I posted this to in game issue today. The rest of these are all ass holes it seams like! They don't believe you just like they WORK for NG!! A bit long I know but I hope they will get the message!

Why has the Scavenge mission difficulty suddenly increased? 3 days ago when I was on a scavenge mission on hard difficulty the first Walker's were level 22 for the first two spawns. On normal difficulty they were level 19. Now suddenly with no mention of an update or change to anything in difficulty. I am facing level 23 on the hard setting for the first two spawns. On the normal setting level 20 for the first spawn's, then level 19 for the 2nd with one or two twenties mixed in. Are you trying to make this scavenge missions to difficult for anyone to complete those also? Just like the game missions which are impossible because they require level 24 to start with but we can only get our survivors to level 20 and our weapons max out at 23. The quality of the crates have certainly not increased but the difficulty has?? Are you trying to make players quit? Because that's what it feels like to me when I can't do a simple scavenge mission without taking my absolute best survivors with me. Even then not being able to take out a level 23 Walker with my level 20 assault with level 23 assault weapon in one shot. I used to try to go as far as I could to get as much EXP as possible, easily getting up to level 28 walkers with 1 Assault, 1 Hunter and 1 Shooter, all with 23 or 22 weapons. Now I am lucky to get past the 1st spawn with out taking damage...
So why have you chosen to make the simplest area of the game more difficult?? This (I thought) was supposed to be the area where we can at least try to get the impossible amount of supplies or EXP needed to upgrade Equipment, Survivors or Building's without having to spend or hard earned REAL MONEY!!
I play this game because I love The Walking Dead show. Not because I love NG... This is supposed to be and enjoyable extension of the show. Not a place to feel RAPED every time we play the game... Raped maybe too strong of a word. FUCKED IN THE ASS! Now that's more like it...
Sorry, didn't mean to go there but I felt like I needed to.
If NG can't figure out how to make the game playable for all! Not just those that spend $100 a week easily in this game. Then I and MANY of my friends are done with this game FOR GOOD!! I know the bottom line for you is to make money... But in no way should you be exiling the players that are here just because they love The Walking Dead show!!
Remember, the show is why you are seeing the success you have achieved.
Please fix the Scavenge Mission difficulty back to what it was before you decided to change it with no notice.
Thank You, I am looking forward to your response.

I'm not a big fan of retiring a Pinky. That's a lot of wasted tokens. I went with pushing one of my survivors to 2 Pinks and my Normal Missions are at RSL 21. I can easily beat those and the rewards are decent.

Because rewards are about the same in normal and hard scavenge missions, hard missions are hardly worth playing. Only if you can also reach 100 kills in them as well. Otherwise you most likely get more xp at normal difficulty level.

I agree on spending TG for tokens. That's generally all I spend it on. I just don't find the gear missions to be helpful. Then again, as I said, my gear is better than most folks.

The only other offer I will jump at is the gas. It's pretty straightforward to turn the 8 gas costing 400 TG into ~500 TG with 6 gas left over for more raiding or a scavenge run.
