Challenge Round Rework

in my posittion is the new challenge module really fair!
you cant repeat single missions, you have to clear all with one star! its a step to stop repeatel maps and this is ok for all regular players, your guys have to be balanced to get the next lvl, you cant make impossible stars with just lvl survivors!
i see now the big guilds can do much more but not endless!!
so thats what the game make fair again -
@buchizombiebreath I respectfully disagree with the idea of fairness having anything to do with each player reaching his highest potential. Even with pink stars and I guess balanced means leveled up maxed out survivors, the situation is still a stop in gameplay.
-
yes but its not the game before rework where some guys can repeat just one map to 400 stars :-)
-
i understand that this seems fair for you and thats ok and i accept. but i can also tell you that it kills the fun for players like me who want just play the other maps and still have a bit more fun.buchizombiebreath said:in my posittion is the new challenge module really fair!

right now the challenge is boring for me, cause it's very often the same, i play until friday or saturday, then i hit the wall at RSL 26 or RSL 27 and i am done, just cause one map , even if i could still play the other 5 maps to higher RSL, but it isn't possible.
For me it's a mood-killer, frustrating and not fun... it's boring.
i hope always that we get a challenge with 6 beatable and repeatable maps now that doesn't restrict me from playing and having fun.Julia - "the puppet master - the secret leader of the council!!!" =D

This challenge is already over for me because of one map. I get 3 stars on 4 of them, 2 stars on 1 and can't beat the other anymore.
That's annoying and kills all the fun.
I think I saw something about balacing the maps but at the moment they clearly are not.Leader of Morbid Sinners and Morbid Spirits

Luckily i don't have enough time/gass to get into trouble on those 2 in-your-face missions this week. But at lvl 24, it is already clear to see where a bottle-neck would be.
-
Is it just me, or is what @SmittySpivey3 is suggesting is just changing the challenge back to the way it was before the update? Having to get at least one star on all six missions automatically lends itself to one mission being the "challenge killer" to all but the Super elite players.
This week I suspect Armored Compound is going to end the challenge for 95% of players. There are just too many armored walkers to manage even with the 50% assualt boost. I feel fortunate for have just now gotten 1 star on that mission on the first stage of level 27 but have very low expectations of being able to succeed on the second round of level 27 which will end my challenge. Last week it was Hilltop for me. Not all challenge missions are created equal, that's for certain. Good luck to us all. -
Road Runner for me... Still got 2 stars on compound an needed at least 10 tries to get one star on RR. Barely...Leader of Morbid Sinners and Morbid Spirits

What if you could retire a map as @SmittySpivey3 suggested, but once you retire a map, you can no longer get any bonus stars?
-
I would really like that. The Bonus stars doesn't interest me, i just want to play the next rounds and the next RSL and not get stopped from playing by 6/6.jester said:What if you could retire a map as @SmittySpivey3 suggested, but once you retire a map, you can no longer get any bonus stars?

That was just an empty promise to argue somehow for hte new sysrem. An easy way out. It's just impossible to balance for a lot of reasons. Eg. one player has carefully selected and well equipped hunters, but virtually no competitive scouts. Bang, hits the wall on bbq all day. The other is the opposite - bang, can't complete Burning walkers (or whatever it's called) ever. It's situational, depends a lot on the player so balancing can't be done.Jaden said:

Not to mention "no freemen" were promised as well...
OOH even if balancing maps were possible, maybe it wouldn't be wanted. We would see ridiculously easy and painfully hard challanges one after the other. Eg. like the one on hunter week and the last one. -1 lvl for me this time, despite pushing much harder than before.
In an ideal world, you could complete maps individually and get the round rewards once you finish the 6th for each level. Not even worth suggesting until 7.3, I guess. -
What I've noticed with the challenge rework is that mid-level players seem to breeze past 500 stars and high level players have trouble hitting 300. Seems odd.
-
If they were at least balanced for people with a balanced team and throughout one challenge it wouldn't be as bad as it is now.
I don't know if that is feasible or possible but I should hope that they at least try to find a solution. Otherwise most people will quickly become very frustrated by the new system (if they aren't already...).Leader of Morbid Sinners and Morbid Spirits

The survivors are not meant to be invincible super heroes. Eventually we all hit a wall and can't progress. That's the incentive to upgrade the survivors, their gear, traits etc.exploiting the loophole loophole

Um yea that would be odd...and also makes literally no sense...so maybe who u think are "high level" actually aren't very good at all and only got stars the old way by playing up to there level and then just stopping... -
There's a vast difference between "invicible super heroes" and getting 3 stars on all maps but on the one you can't beat anymore, no matter what.hiplnsdrftr said:The survivors are not meant to be invincible super heroes. If it's one star on 5 maps and you can't beat the 6th, fine... but as it is the differences between the difficulties are just too huge. It's frustrating.
Plus you can't upgrade gear you don't have, survivors past level 20, traits if you don't have the tokens... so incentive it might be, but possible it might not be. That's a different story altogether, though...Leader of Morbid Sinners and Morbid Spirits

i mean one way to get around this would be to make a minimum star count to advance instead of requiring one star in each map. that way if you're rocking 5/6 maps and can't pass one you could still advance by scoring higher on the other maps.
i.e. require 10 stars to advance so if you get 2 stars on 5 maps on RSL 28 you could move on to RSL 29 -
@Jaden on the recent challenge I found 2 out of the 6 maps to be more of a challenge, I got up to 579 stars and was starting to get beat up. Level 20 dudes with free weapons.exploiting the loophole loophole

@hiplnsdrftr
This challenge I had some trouble with Armored Compound so when I had to end the challenge I had only 2 stars on that one.
I was barely able to beat Road Runner and had to try at least 10 times. I just made it because I was lucky.
And it was really frustrating, though I was being stubborn. Got to 703 stars (last challenge I got 740).Leader of Morbid Sinners and Morbid Spirits

I had 3 missions with 3 stars, 1 mission with 2 stars, 1 mission with 1 star and nothing at RoadRunner at level 26.1. Over 24 hours I have tried it countless times. Several times almost done, but only almost. So I had "only" 990 stars instead of 1017 or more. Just frustrating.- Ex-Leader "Breaking Deads" -

That is what NG wants from you: countless retries to draw all your money out of your pocket.
With the old system it was clear when it is time to stop wasting, now it is a grey area.
You must only resist to do it.-----------------
Remember to use your charge abilities -
Well it is called a Challenge. If you can't beat a level admit to yourself you suck; so try harder, play longer, spend more, get better gear, upgrade survivors and do better. I've seen others get way high so I know its not an "Impossible" but a Challenge. Or are you entitled to 600, 1000, 1100, or 1300 stars? Then look yourself in the mirror and tell yourself that you cannot be pleased. No matter what is done or how you approach anything, you cannot be pleased. You will always find fault in things, your nature will be to complain and feel entitled to what others can achieve.
"Well I want it to be hard, but not too hard", "But I can beat 4 of 6 easy and 1 or 2 are just too hard" "I want to replay some but not the others"
If you find your self saying any of the above you are a complainer, and no matter what is done to design the game around your personnel preference you will still complain.
I say all this in jest
Some level are really hard -

I'm basing my observation on the player level that can be seen when you tap on names in the guild list. PL33 (new guy in guild) ramped to almost 800 in the first round after the update while PL48 (leader, regularly top score, always at least in top 3) barely hit 350.
