Gear and Trait advice??

Been playing this game for a long time and never really explored this topic--just playing by feel mostly. Where will i find the best advice on gear and survivor bonuses? All my survivors are leg and all gear is leg 23, but i have a stockpile of leg gear i havent upgraded at all. I always burn epic and lower gear. Hell, i don't even know if its possible to upgrade epic to leg.

Are there specific threads or something devoted to these topics?

Thanks, that's helpful. I knew most of that but when it gives levels up to 10 is that including pink stars? Level 6 is one pink, 7 is two pink, etc?

Any ideas of combinations? That's what i really need. Best gear/survivor combo traits for various objectives like higher levels, outpost, whatever. I get how Piercing and Bullet Dodge are key for human enemies, but paired with what else?

That sort of info is what i'm interested in.

I'm the same, randomly playing without a clue! I'm maxed out with everything but haven't got into the stats of everything and would like to know how things work.
