To trade or not to trade?
"In addition, this weekend the Trade Good Shop also offers trades of Supplies for equipment. Do keep it mind that a council upgrade is around the corner, so choose wisely!"
How soon is "around the corner"? We need to know it, so that we can guess how many tomatoes we should exchange for having plenty of them when the new update arrives. Around the corner means next week when this challenge ends?

@Juanlo If I think about last updates, they usually hit us on tuesday or wednesday(between challenges). I guess NG is planning this to same days but last step is out of their hands and they cannot guerantee exact release date.
Edit: Tomato exchange...no thanks. Last weekend or the one before was good moment to do so, not now. -

Anyone interested in trading?
Monday morning we will know, if the update is coming sooooon by taking a look at the booster.

Even if it was a two weeks wait (which isn't around the corner in my book) I'd still not trade. Though I think lvl 20 gear will be very useful for a long time still (at least to me) I much prefer to wait and get the lvl 21 stuff.
-
If I'm not mistaken, sometimes you could trade tomatoes for gas, altough it was pretty cheap comparing to equipment. But I agree, it does not make sense trade for gear when the update is "around the corner".MadPuppy said:Even if it was a two weeks wait (which isn't around the corner in my book) I'd still not trade. Gas I might go for, if I want more play time. Didn't think of that.
Supplies for phones might be tempting too. -
Announcing this trade weekend the same day as the update is like a big FU from Next Games. Many players have had tomatoes maxed for at least a month and have been begging for the trade. It is no coincidence that they finally offer it when they know that now we have valid reason NOT to use it. It would not surprise me at all if when everyone has the new levels upgraded and are maxed again and asking for another trade, NG will say "but the last time we offered it, it wasn't that popular. Our numbers show no one really used it."
-
I'm a little bit confused about the target audience here.
Level 58 players clearly have no interest in trading food for level 20 gear with a council upgrade coming very soon (even without the upgrade, I don't really need more level 20 gear).
Mid-level players, who have just reached a new council level, might be tempted to get new gear. But 1) presumable their food is better used elsewhere 2) I'm under the impression that the gear level in these trades often don't match what players need, i.e.a player with level 16 survivors might get level 15 gear offered in the trade. -
I can only explain this disaster with the 5s LVL up and TG exchange with a possible 2.5 Update delay that might have happend.. Maybe it was planned to be already released last Tuesday and Weekend Event was programmed accordingly ?-----------------
Remember to use your charge abilities -
And they put the 12.5 back and it is a shooter gun, Ive been waiting for a long time for one, no thanks

That makes no logical sense. If the update had hit first there would be no need for the supply exchange. As I said above, this was an intentional slap in the face. -
@Shteevie
I've never seen so many bundles in the store. You brought back the 12.5k TG trades too. All this just before an update in which you've advertised a Council upgrade.

At Level 58, I'm only interested in Gas, Phones, or TGs to trade my tomato cans for.

Well said. They are disgraceful... -
Like @DonCoqui I did not believe my eyes when I looked at the TG shop. There are seven different weapon/armor bundles offered.
Knowing that an update is coming soon this is kind of shabby. Of course everyone is free to buy whatever and whenever they like. But I do not like the obvious attempt to sell as many (virtual) goods as possible right before their value will be lowered.
Would only be reasonable when the players will be able to upgrade their maxed out gear. Might be wishful thinkingMoriturus te salutatFound his home in Asylum -
5 million tomatoes for L20 gear. Who are they kidding????
1 or 2 million maybe, and that's if the traits were displayed.
But 5 million??
Maybe if it was L21.......
I think phones would be the only trade that would tempt me.“You never know how strong you are until being strong is your only option.” (Bob Marley) -
I just did the little trade. Don't let frustration cloud your reasoning. Came out of the shop, harvested the farms, killed 3 wall walkers, and I'm full again with a gold box to show for it. And I'm going to do it every time. Just stay away from the big trade unless it's worth it to you, personally.
I'm not about to complain about free stuff. -
Want more slap in the face? Full supplies as free update 2.5 gift would be awesome!paintbeast said:> @JackBauer said:

@Monsuta At the end of the day algebra drives most business decisions... emotions hurt revenue. So if your "wishes" came true... would that help NG's bottom line in terms of keeping the greybacks in the game? Interesting proposition. I think greybacks are about to become extinct w/ 2.5

I'm only trading 200k of supplies for gold chests. Once you make that initial trade, your farm plots can instantly restock your supplies to 100% full. I would assume 17.9m supplies will be enough to upgrade our council, training grounds and maybe even the workshop when the next update drops. I have zero interest in any additional base level 20 gear. I have 300k of TG hoarded to use once they finally start offering the 12.5k TG gear at base level 21. I also have dozens of pieces of fully upgraded legendary level 23 gear that I never actually use to scrap for XP (using the XP doubler) to pay for upgrading my survivors to level 21, and my new base level 21 gear (which will be about 4.3m each). This next update is going to be incredibly expensive. Good luck to us all.

Doubt it. If the information on OLT's site is correct, I would suspect it'll cost much more than 18 M. Probably closer to 20-23 M, if I had to guess.NCDawgFan said:I would assume 17.9m supplies will be enough to upgrade our council, training grounds and maybe even the workshop when the next update drops.
For context:
- Council level 17 required 9.5 M supplies to upgrade all three (2.5 M Council, 3.5 M Workshop, 3.5 M Training Grounds)
- Council level 18 required 12.5 M supplies to upgrade all three (4 M Council, 4.25 M Workshop, 4.25 M Training Grounds)
- Council level 19 required 17 M supplies to upgrade all three (5 M Council, 6 M Workshop, 6 M Training Grounds)
Council level 20 might require something like 6-7 M Council, 7-8 M Workshop, and 7-8 M Training Grounds.Proud member of Mavericks OG, a top 3 global GW and challenge guild.

I'm doing the same. I am going to let the clock run instead of using gold though. Would have been nice if they gave us the 5 second trainings when the update came out but we all know they don't have it in them to do it. -
I will not trade. Only those 200k i want to be ready to update my camp!"Always be yourself unless you can be a capybara. Then always be a capybara".

I am on your doing a little at a time and before I trade anymore I make sure it's full again. It would be nice if they told us when, but we all know they never will just "SOON". I AM REALLY STARTING TO HATE THAT WORD!
-
No chance it'll be this weekend though, right? They don't do updates over the weekend I don't think
-
My guess is that since we are getting the new weapon - Dixieland BBQ (?) - after they "announce" it on "The Talking Dead" on March 25, that the update will follow on Tuesday the 27th

I haven't seen the gold chest offer yet (all hail the RNG gods... just paraphrasing a mod or two here), but I "bought" 16 gas for 800k tomatoes earlier. Same result, just takes longer to re-max. The tomatoes you used to see as "missed" (glowing orange) aren't there. Thanks to NG for this, at least. They are, however, buffering up in the background (kudos again). Additionally, has anyone noticed that, for we endgamers at least, there are no post-mission tomatoes from crates if our storage is maxed? It's all either XP or gear (considering the shitty delivery it's all XP anyway)... Kudos thrice!!
Here's a dev "suggestion box" item... After over 17 months playing this game, I'm sick and tired of scrapping well over 99.9% of the useless gear that shows up in ads and after missions. How about a "Scrap all gear" button! It would help reduce the callus on my finger. If I get the once-every-six-months epic or legendary item I'll keep it. Otherwise it's s-crap. -
Don't think so... Council level 20 requires player level 59 and people are capped at 58 right now. Workshop & Training Grounds require council level 20, so you have to upgrade a lot (or maybe all) of your other buildings first.NCDawgFan said:I would assume 17.9m supplies will be enough to upgrade our council, training grounds and maybe even the workshop when the next update drops.
-
vudnik, if you're maxed you're only going to get tomatoes from sub level 20 challenges and supplies scavenges and farms so it's going to take longer to rebuild your supply.
would definitely recommend saving your tg to buy level 21 legendaries after the council upgrade however
