Starting level of challenge will raise with the first lvl 21 survivor/hero?

@Capleton i am not 100% sure but this is the formula they use
((x / 3 • .70) + 1 = your base RSL when the challenge starts
x is a variable (survivors) adding ur highest level of yourv3 survivors and divide by 3 and multiply it by .7 and after that add plus 1 to get your final results. -
Can't make work your formula Amazayn =D
I would simply say, your base RSL is your max survivor level minus 5 ?Ranked Guild Amazons, check out for free rooms -
Challenges: amayazin
Season mission: highest survivor
Scavenge: highest survivor -
Thanks @Amazayn - did not remember the formula.Moriturus te salutatFound his home in Asylum

Amazayn remembers the formula from the discussion threads from before 2.4, which are mostly right. In 2.5, the .70 was slightly adjusted, but if you had 3 level 20 survivors in 2.4 with a starting difficulty of 14, then 3 level 21 survivors in 2.5 should result in a starting difficulty of 15.

@Shteevie i started already with level 15 Last challenge without having 21 survivor! Does pink survivors influence ??
-
@Riggs
Your change in experience is what we intended and described in the patch notes for 2.5. Rarity or pink stars have no effect on starting difficulty.
@srmcn1031
As stated above, if you have level 20 or 21 survivors, you will start at difficulty 15.
Edit: players with level 21 survivors are getting starts of difficulty 21. Since the challenge has already started, this is not something we can change for this challenge. It was not intended in the development of 2.5, but we will keep an eye on players' ability to make progress in case an adjustment is needed.Development Team Member - The Walking Dead: No Man's Land

@Shteevie What you're saying was not true for my game this past week. I have lvl 21 survivors and starting RSL/difficulty was "16" (not 15). Is that being recalibrated?
-
@Shteevie I have teammates who also started at rsl 16

@Shteevie Although I appreciate you providing a response (even if it's in the form of an after-the-fact Edit), I also hope I have misinterpreted your edit. Are you implying my entire Challenge is bugged from having early lvl 21, as an unintended effect of 2.5,...but NG will not be changing it either? Unacceptable.
What "progress" are you monitoring in your comment? How much money I spend in gold or hospital time as a result? Not cool. -
@Movado I normally like to see things from the other point of view even if I don't agree with it, for the sake of being able to see the whole picture, but this is one case where I agree with you wholeheartedly. I read the message the same way from Shteevie, "Oops, you weren't supposed to start at level 16, but instead of making sure it's fixed for next time, we'll just see how everyone does and only fix it if too many people have problems with it." That is NOT an okay answer. If it was an unintended bug that needs to be fixed, then fix it. Just because players may be able to overcome it doesn't mean that it should be fine as is. This, to me, speaks of extreme laziness on the developer's end. Shteevie would have been better off lying and saying that it was "intended" like many of the other unannounced changes which I'm now questioning.

You what you are saying is.. By me leveling up to 21 I'll more than like get less stars which will result in less rewards.. Right?
20 =14
21 =16 -
So what's the verdict here?
In 2.5 I have multiple Lvl 20 survivors but no Lvl 21's yet.
If I have only one Lvl 21 survivor will it jump to RSL 16 start?
From my understanding the formula was tweaked so I'm going to assume once I have 3 then it'll jump to 16 stsrt the challenge after I attain the 3rd Lvl 21 survivor.
Can anyone confirm this?

@DLich
I started today's challenge at RSL 15 and I have ten survivors at level 21. -
I started at 16..
Youd think with all the money you make from the game you'd hire a programmer that's not incompetent..
Just sayin -
@DLich I had 2 Level 21 Assaults ready, another bruiser was in training for level 21. My level is Level 59. I started at Level 15.-----------------

Same situation as @JackBauer for me. Started the challenge with two lvl 21s and at rec lvl 15.
Started the discussion to get some answers...all I got is more questions and doubt about the game mechanics.Moriturus te salutatFound his home in Asylum -
I think anyone that started at RSL 16 need to voice their opinion here. There is all this talk of "FAIR PLAY" but when you have players with level 21 survivors starting at different RSL's then that is not fair and should be fixed. I am no where near getting anyone to level 21 but not looking forward to the crap shoot on which RSL do I start at.

@Shteevie
Is it so difficult to answer a simple but decisive question?
Under which conditions (fighter level and number of fighters) start with RSL 15 and when with RSL 16?- Ex-Leader "Breaking Deads" - -
@Loewe1968
In this case, yes; it is difficult to give a simple answer to that question. We need to identify why it didn't work as intended, take in the full list of responses from players who do and don't like the way it worked this week, plan a solution for next week and the future, and implement that change.
Since the Challenges run all weekend, we want to give people more time to contact us with their thoughts.
In general, as with the entire system, a player with higher-level survivors will start at a higher difficulty. The specifics are not yet set going forward, and will be partially based on the way players played this week and the feedback that they give.
More info before the next Challenge begins. If you would prefer to start at a lower difficulty, focus for now on finding good gear for when you do decide to train up to 21.Development Team Member - The Walking Dead: No Man's Land

@Shteevie
Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions
I would like NG to fix the bug & start at the lower level. Please & thank you
PS. Our guild of 40 feels very strongly about this -
In retrospect I wished I never upgraded. Also started at RSL 16 & lost 107 stars. Well, if they leave it up to player performance to decide, the players are in complete control of 'the players' ability to make progress.'
Just sayin'. -
My brain is not smart... can someone please explain how we arrive at 107 for starting at lvl 16 vs 15? Does it also impact when rounds repeat or something?kiwinz7 said:In retrospect I wished I never upgraded. Also started at RSL 16 & lost 107 stars. Only game I know you are penalised for upgrading

33stars for RSL 15
And two times 37 stars for the RSL 19, that is only one round, if you start from 16.
@Bill_ZRT -
Perfect - so rounds don't repeat until you hit RSL 20 if you begin at RSL 16. That makes sense - thanks @David_H79!Everyone’s got two wolves inside them. One is anger, envy, pride. The other…truth, kindness. Every day they tear each other apart.
