Platinum calls

I've smelled it but not sure if worth trying...
It would be perfect if 100% epic, legendary or hero... But rare survivors? I already have rare survivors in 15 calls..

I like platinum calls i spent 200 radios and added an additional star to 3 of my heroes..

I did a call...uhm... last one for me. I've got 32 Maggie, not enough even to upgrade a single trait of my epic Maggie. So i've keep Don just to have a look to Ruthless trait. I will probably trash him.
I have a 7* hunter and 6* with Marksman and Sure shot... But also legendary Daryl, epic Maggie and Dwight, Sasha... No worth upgrading an epic only for Ruthless.

Imo they should allow us to have a sixth trait or to replace an unvwanted trait

2x15 calls is better than 1x25 2 bites of the cherry and worse case 64 tokens vs worst case 32 tokens for 10 radios more.

I don't understand the hate of the platinum call. It's been in existence for less than 12 hours and some people seem to think they have it all figured it and that it's a waste. My 6 pulls of it so far have been 200x less disappointing then most of my 15 radio calls.

Okay guys, I spent 400 radios on platinum calls. Verdict: they're pricey but not bad. Some of my better calls in screenshots below.

Pros:
- guaranteed hero tokens
- reasonable chance of getting 128-256 hero tokens (4 out of 16 calls)
- good chance at getting 128 regular tokens (8 out of 16 calls) or 256 regular tokens (2 out of 16 calls)
- only 4 out of 16 calls where I had to pick 32 hero or 32 regular tokens

Cons:
- obviously pricier, if you don't care about heroes, this is probably not a great value because you can make 10 gold calls for the cost of 6 hero calls
- hard to get heroes you care about. I got Dwight once, Sasha twice, and Rosita once. Rest were crap like Negan, Tara, Glenn (who is already leg for me), 256 Rufus, etc. Chances of the Carl/Michonne/Rick rare heroes are still relatively low (distribution if heroes seems similar to regular radio calls)

I did two...got 32 Maggie and 32 Jesus...and I personally rather have the guarantee of hero...i don't use alot of them...but I use Maggie big time for challenge for xp boost...so if it's a guarantee to get some of those over a random hero token I like it...

To me the whole "64 for 2 15 call is better than 32 from one 25" isn't really accurate...32 can easily upgrade a trait for most heroes who are rare/epic...like my Maggie is epic...im at leader trait before then needing the 250 to get to legendary...32 for her is worth more than a random 128 for bruiser class or any class for that matter...cuz with mostly legendary and couple pinks...128 isn't really putting a dent into anything...let alone a measly 32 class tokens...that is useless...when u need 500 per trait...

25 phones is a lot per call...but whatever...its a better way to get hero tokens which many complain about...hero tokens are worth more to me than class tokens...its not a 1:1 ratio at all in my opinion...so the guarantee of 32+ is worth it..

@JayZ Thanks for taking the plunge.

Still of the opinion though to pass on it unless they combine it with the 14 days of hero event and then, based on what JayZ found, it would be worth it to me to give it a shot.

I only did 1 - Got and took Carl tokens, (Or it was 32 Bruiser\Warrior).

Main reason was what @JayZ said - Hard to call who you need - I'm still 400 tokens away from Carl, so until i magically pull 1k Radios out of thin air, I'll avoid even his 10 call.

Back to 15's for me, mainly for that reason, as well as the fact i could use replacing a fair few of my team (Hunters with no Dodge, Shooters are a 3/5 good traits, Maybe 4/5 etc.).

In the grand scheme of things 75 radios will get you 3 platinum calls compared to 5 15 calls.

Platinum 3 calls minumum 96 tokens
Regular 5 calls minumum 160 tokens.

64 token difference minumum over 75 radios is 1.17 tokens per radio.

Considering 15 radio calls give minumum 2.13 tokens per radio it's not "that bad"

But as mentioned above if you don't care about Heros then obviously this isn't a good call option.

But how many of us would try out the 10 call option and get 10 tokens of a hero or worse an uncommon survivor. If you did a 15 call and got a rare and then did a 10 call you got an uncommon you're; in theory; substituting the uncommon survivor for a guaranteed hero.

Regardless of how you look at it everyone will have their opinions on platinum calls. I personally think the 10 extra radios isn't too bad a price.

Really undecided on this after getting badly burnt with the 10 calls.........

I made two, got 32 Ezkeil and 32 Glenn, so i am not impressed wasting my 50 radios

Completely agree. Unless they get rid of the rare results, I won't be making any 'platinum' calls.

I made 10 Platinum calls earlier. I only got straight 32s twice. No legendary, but plenty of epic. It's pretty decent odds for something useful, which is good considering the price. But I can see how it's not for everybody.

I usually get great pulls from regular 15 calls, just about always get something good like epic tokens or better
So I'll just hang on to my radios for now and keep an eye on what you guys are getting in these platinum calls
