Please confirm that promoting two (2) survivors to lvl 22 will not increase RSL from all lvl 21 surv

I know you have said it in the past but I am hearing conflicting war stories that some who upgraded 2 survivors had their RSL changed. Is this true or am I safe upgrading 2 survivors to lvl 22? Will my RSL increase from now? I have all lvl 21 survivors. Thanks.

Cant tell you if RSL changes after upgrading 2 survivors but it changes after the third one for sure. I just had upgraded the third survivor before the start of the challenge and my RSL did change. Now im stuck at 150 stars under the result from last week.

@vshield50 - here is a link to the spreadsheet I created that shouldshow the correct Starting RSL and Repeat RSL. This sheet uses the formulas discussed here on the forums and I haven't had any feedback that anything is incorrect. You can ignore the 'Ending Level' column... I was originally going to calculate a few more things on this sheet but life and work have taken over.

Actually there are a couple things wrong:
22,20,20 and 21,21,20 average to 21 once rounded and will cause you to start at RSL 15 and repeat at RSL 20

There are two notes on the spreadsheet that discuss rounding. They are:

Starting RSL values are all rounded using standard rounding: Values less than or equal to .49 are rounded down, values greater than or equal to .50 are rounded up

RSL 'Repeat' values only look to the integer, so all decimal place values are dropped.

So for the line that includes levels 22, 20, 20, the starting RSL is calculated using this formula:
Take the average of the survivor levels * 0.7.
((22+20+20)/3)*0.07
(62/3)*0.07
20.67*0.07
14.47
Using standard rounding, that's 14 for a starting RSL.

As for the repeat RSL, that doesn't use standard rounding... the decimal places are dropped and only the integer is used. So if the result is 20.99, the decimals are dropped and the result is 20.

Ok...but to me it just makes sense to either round at the very end, after all calculations, or to round every step of the way. Rounding here but not there doesn't make sense but I'll let you veterans handle that. I have heard of both scenarios: 2 21s starting at 15 for some and starting at 14 for others.
Either way, I'm not taking the risk. 20 I will remain

@Avengers - You mentioned that there were folks that you know of that had two 21 survivors that started at RSL 15. Were they from on the forum here, or folks you knew through Guilds? I'd be really interested to hear their stories and what they did in terms of opening a support case with NG and how that whole issue was handled. Did they have their starting RSL fixed? Where they told to go pound sand? Something else?

Ok so I know of a couple people on both sides of this. Both Trae and Conan upgraded 2 toons to 21 and saw that challenge start changed to 15 for them. This was during the beginning when the 21 issue started after the update. There was a lot of confusion at the time and neither of my friends sent supper ticket because it seemed that it now only took 2 toons at 21 to change the start RSL. I remember many guildmates complaining of this exact thing. So we figured that's the way it is now and they continued to upgrade other toons to 21 to do better in challenges as well as gear.

But then there are also people like Béla who have 2 toons at 21 but still start at 14. I've heard of a theory that perhaps you start at 14 if you upgrade 1 toon to 21 and then unlock a hero at 21...almost like the lvl 21 unlocked hero doesn't count. And so I asked Béla but he said he had upgraded a shooter and hunter...so it wasn't an unlocked hero.

So...can someone explain? This is why I'm super confused and why I refuse to take the risk and find out for myself. I know there were some changes made after lots of people complained...I know that lvl 24 gear was scaled a bit more accordingly and that lvl 21 toons do more damage or something but has it been changed now? Does it take 3 21 toons to start at a higher lvl now?

@Avengers - Appreciate the information! Makes sense that the folks in that instance didn't open a ticket with support since it was right around the time of the update and information was "fuzzy" at best.

Does anyone know of a situation where two level 21's triggered the RSL start at 15 and that person took their issue to NG support for resolution?

@tabernac Well I guess people would only do that if they knew that was a glitch or something. I think most people assume that to be right or are very confused like me at best. Therefore the reason for this thread...now if only NG would ANSWER!!! I know the chart that Bill made was based off NG but it would be nice to hear from NG exactly how this works and if the chart truely is correct in its entirety. @Teeceezy

@Avengers what most likely happened was that your guild mates did have 2 survivors at 21 but may have unlocked a Hero. Heroes unlock at the highest level of all survivors.

No they didn't @zbot
They made sure to have only 2 at 21 so that they could start at RSL 14 but that didn't happen for the majority of the people I know who upgraded. Some had 1 hero and 1 other toon at 21 while others had 2 toons at 21, rest were 20. They still started higher.
Are you saying it has been fixed now and 2 21s are allowed and start remains at 14?

@Avengers that's what happened to my alt. I unlocked a Hero on my alt, my survivors were level 2 but the Hero was level 5 due to a level 5 survivor I rescued. I hadn't accounted for that. On my main I had 3+ 21.

Next time something odd happens have them send a in game support request so support can take a look. Without it it's really hard to tell. From what's reported on the forum for the majority it was as expected, there were few that reported 15 with 2 21 and there were also reports of 14 with 2 or more 21. But it's hard to tell what happened without more information.

Remember that the Governor will unlock after completing all highlights. Beware if you care about getting that 3rd level xx.

It was in April. Property since nothing, because I thought this is normal. That's why I then got all players high in the last months. I do not want to know now that I make the same mistake a second time with 22 now

Indeed, since we recently had a 2-day thread claiming a new weapon trait was broken, when in fact the weapon was never upgraded to activate the trait.

While I don't doubt that people are reporting what they think happened, I haven't seen any actual evidence that this has happened. So far all of the reports I've seen have been anecdotal. So far I don't see any reason for people to be concerned as long as they understand the ramifications of starting RSL and Repeat RSL on my spreadsheet.
