PSA: Exploding Walkers have been nerfed (in a bad way)

If you haven't noticed yet, Exploding Walkers now deal damage (from explosions) in relation to their level and not one relatively constant explosion value. So, you may not always be killing normal walkers of similar levels by shooting exploders, and you definitely won't be killing most Tanks and Armored Walkers by shooting the boomers. NG said this was a byproduct of the walker rebalancing done in a recent update (shteevie said 2.5, but he may have meant 2.6). Either way, this doesn't pass the smell test as two challenges ago we had Quarry challenge (which was after both updates), and the Exploding Walkers worked the same way they had previously worked....but not anymore.

@OneLessTitan I'm not sure what level you're on and I never look at numbers.. But.. I have experienced them acting like they always have.. The explosions are taking out level 26-27 normal walkers from the blast and igniting tanks or armored like I always remembered.. zero issues for me!

I have also been experiencing problems. I can have an exploding walker surrounded by regular zombies all of the same level, then when I hit the exploding walker it will kill maybe two but the rest are barely touched. If it takes out one level 17 normal walker it should take out all level 17 normal walkers. It is as if the exploding walker is handing out body shots, which makes zero sense to me.Part of the worldwide Eh Family, and proud of it!

@Mystique -- hopefully it's just a bug impacting some of us. I noticed it on the first map I played (level 14), and have seen it multiple times since. TCZ said nothing had changed with Exploders that he knew of (implying potential bug), but Shteevie assumed it was a consequence of walker rebalancing (which doesn't fit in the timeframe) that wasn't communicated to us. Either scenario is extremely likely, and will update if I get a response from in-game help.

@OneLessTitan @Shteevie says that in 2.6 onward nothing has changed in the way that the boomer damage is calculated.

I guess we found another visual glitch though?! Or do we hear alternative facts from finland? Who knows? Maybe Agent Mulder since he knows that "the truth is out there!"

This isn't new for 2.6. It was this way in 2.5, maybe before. Definitely in 2.5 though.

Personally I have not noticed a difference. RNG plays funny tricks with everyone.

I've seen boomers not kill regular walkers many times on this challenge. Previously, that was a very rare event. I also noticed that they will blow up a walker on the other side of a wall. That seems new as well.

I've seen the wall thing before. That is normal. I haven't noticed anymore discrepancies with the explosions anymore so hopefully it's fixed itselfLooking for a guild? The Den is the place to be! We bring the fun back!

They have always hit us through walls. It seems like there may have been a bug where they could get us but not other walkers (I may not be remembering that correctly) -

Only once, the fatty didn’t catch fire [for me], and to be honest, I think it might have been that way before but I’m not 100% certain.
I’m not seeing any change so far and I’ve been paying close attention since @OneLessTitan posted this thread. -
I've been keeping an eye out for this. It didn't happen until here at 26.3 (one's on fire and one's not after shooting the exploder:

That's not new.
If a walker survives an explosion they are not automatically on fire.
Edit sometimes they are sometimes not. -

Edit sometimes they are sometimes not.It was just an instance where the damage from an exploding walker didn't kill off normal walkers. So I killed them with joy. I mean, I experienced joy while killing them--joy doesn't work the same way as bullets do.
