Specifics on governor ability?

Does it only apply to crates after a mission, or does the part about exp and supplies apply to kills in-mission?

@redbaron welcome to the forum. The Governor's leadership trait only applies to crates after mission.

Maggie and Glenn affect exp and supplies to kills in missions.

If you open a crate at the end of a mission and it gives supplies or xp then it will be a higher amount.

I've got a governor question. It seems like every supply or xp crate gets the boosted message on it, but I have never seen gear. Anyone else?

I've seen it work. It only increases gear level though. It doesn't effect rarity.

When playing high RSL (22+) the chance for increasing gear drops like a stone. It is basically (near) only usefull for lower level gear. But the xp and supplies boost is nice.

I like the xp and supply boost. But I have literally never seen the "reward improved" button on a piece of gear.

I played the entire challenge on my main (camp 63, seven or so level 22s) with governor as leader. Got to almost 860 stars. It's weird though, right? I could screenshot you literally every single xp and supplies is reward improved.
And zero gear. Is the drop table so low for gear that 12% improved is negligible?

I did a scavenge just now (one, no more) to see what would happen with the gov in leader position.

I got gold, xp, gear, a fragment and components. Only the xp was improved.

Edit: did another with a bunch of gear. None improved.

I believe the trait only improves the level of the weapon, not the rarity. And since 22 is the current highest level, nothing to improve.
(Unless I got it backwards and its the other way around.)

    You'd still expect a lvl 21 -> 22 improved. But that's a miracle.

When playing challenge you'll see improvement all over the place, but when you reach the point of getting lvl 21 or 22 only. Poof, +- 0.1% chance at improving lvl 21 to 22.

12% success means 88% failure. I did some testing in early rounds of the challenge and it does work but the success rate is low.

That's why I used him in every mission.

I'm as surprised that *every* supply and xp shows an increase.

I was too until I made the some observation and @David_H79 pointed out the specific wording on the trait. It could be written more clearly, but translated it says: The amount of supplies or XP is always increased by 12 percent. The chance of higher-level equipment is also increased by 12 percent.

Only equipment is an increase of 12% chance at higher level gear. The increase in xp and supplies is always.
