Sasha or Daryl?

Right now Sasha gives me a 26% chance to get an ability point on a body shot, Daryl gives me reduced threat but also a 26% chance of crit hit.

Seems to me since I need to get three ability points to use the ability, I run with 2 hunters and 1 assault, which is really just crit hits, that Daryl would get me the better chance for higher damage on each turn.

Am I right or am I overlooking something?

I use to swap between them. Depending on the missions. But i prefer shasha. I can charge my survivors faster.

When walkers are a certain amount of levels higher than you (5 I think?) all of your attacks become body shots, unless you are using a charge attack that is a guaranteed critical (shooters, hunters, scouts) or unless your ranged weapon had the piercing trait. At this point Daryl is pretty much useless. With Sasha, because all of your attacks will most likely be body shots, her leader trait gives you a pretty good chance of each body shot resulting in a free charge point. This means if an assault or hunter hits 6 enemies with their attack, that is 6 possible charges you can get! She is awesome.

If you are going to play The Distance, Sasha is well worth the investment. For Outpost defense, Daryl is nice to have for Retaliate (but his leader trait is worthless). It just depends on what your playing style is and what you consider more important. Because Sasha really makes a difference in The Distance and I can put just about anyone into my Outpost, I heavily prefer Sasha over Daryl.

As mentioned above you can use both for different stages. Daryl until zombies are 3+ levels higher than you, then Sasha is the obvious choice once you start getting body shots every attack as Daryl's leader trait becomes mostly useless.

If you don't go over 3 levels above, Daryl is actually pretty awesome! If you take shooters and assaults with him, the critical damage they do can pack a real punch, especially with shooters. 3 levels above he'll bodyshot, but so will any other hero, Abe included. So Sasha is the only leader that might help in those, maybe along with Rufus, since he gives charge points on every respawn.

But if you pack your survivors with gold piercing, you could use Daryl still.

It depends on who's more upgraded too.

Keep in mind, Sasha (with 2 assaults) is AWESOME for those maps that are cramped and full of armored walkers. Your ranged survivors will body shot armored walkers of any level, so you can spray these crowds of armored walkers with assaults and build up charges super fast. Then you basically just alternate stunning the crowd with one assault while recharging the other. The Archives and Armored Compound are perfect challenge maps to use this technique.

For me heroes fall into two categories; Sasha and the others. When you really need a hero, Sasha can turn the tide, she can help you finish an impossible hard challenge or distance mission. With or without Daryl, mission results do not vary much in my opinion.

As everyone has said, Sasha is by far the most useful hero if you push up to highest difficulties.

That said, Daryl is not completely useless. I will bring him with an interrupt piercing burn gun, the Burneruptor, with my two agro shooters carrying charging piercing guns. Daryl helps ensure that my piercing attacks are crits, and with charging, I can often recharge my shooters without Sasha.

If things go south, I sack Daryl... Saving Sasha for recharging layer.

Really appreciate your input. I’m going to go with Daryl then until the walkers are 3 levels higher than my team, then switch over to Sasha.

I’ve been playing this game for 6 months just kind of guessing at what works. Your input above is leading me to another question now, which I’ll post separately.
