Rosita's Leader Trait Working?

So far this challenge, I've mostly been using my two regular scouts with Michonne in the leader spot. My heavy-hitting scout has been registering critical hits averaging about 35,000 damage, with the range being from about 31k to about 38k. I decided to drop Rosita into the leader spot to see what my heavy hitter can do with her buff, figuring I should be breaking 40k easily, and averaging around 43k on critiical hits ([35k x .23] + 35k). However, I am still hitting in the same range, and have not broken 40k at all. Granted, this is a very small sample size (2 missions with Rosita in leader spot, 7 total crit hits with my heavy hitter), but something doesn't seem right, so I figured I'd see if anyone else has noticed something similar. I've got Rosita up to a pink star, and she's got 5 blue badges and 1 green badge - I've been anxiously awaiting the next scout buff week to see what I can do, so this is kind of disappointing. Since the holy trinity of forum math whizzes has been downsized by 1/3, I'll just tag @jimmorrison369 and @Jayz, in the hopes that someone has an answer.

I'd think hero traits only multiple the damage base of your survivor. Weapon, multipliers on it, badges, stats coming from pink stars etc... is not considered

Hey DBones, thanks for tagging. I used all of the gas I had accumulated overnight to test this out. I ran 6 missions, 3 with and 3 without Rosita, and logged about 10 kills per mission with my Scout.
Without Rosita, my ranges were:
- Normal attack: 9-11k
- Regular crit: 19-21k
- Charged crit: 35-41k
With Rosita, I got:
- Normal attack: 10-12k
- Regular crit: 21-23k
- Charged crit: 39-44k
As you can see, there is definitely some overlap in the Rosita and non-Rosita damage ranges, but I have noticed a difference. I think some of what you might be seeing could be due to the natural variation in damage.
With my sample size, it’s tough to see whether my attack increased by a flat ~20% (I also have a pink star Rosita). I think Rosita’s trait likely is multiplying my Scout’s base damage, weapon damage, Ruthless armor, and Charging weapon trait. However, I can’t be sure how it’s affecting my badges. I think Jim has done more work on the badges and damages calculations front.Proud member of Mavericks OG, a top 3 global GW and challenge guild.

Yeah, I was expecting a full-on 23% damage increase, seeing as how that fits the description in her leader trait. However, I think @mik81 might be right, and it ONLY increases base damage, not taking into account everything else. If that's the case, then Rosita is not nearly as awesome as I thought she was. Still helpful? Sure. But nothing spectacular. Can we get a confirmation of exactly how Rosita's leader trait works @Kaz?Board-certified slayer of the dead

Thanks, @msapaev ! I must've missed that. Dammit, suddenly Rosita is not nearly as sexy as I thought she wasBoard-certified slayer of the dead

Damage comes from 2 basic sources. Your survivor base damage and your weapon base damage.
Usually multipliers are only applied to one of those sources. Survivors traits, hero traits, applies to your survivor base damage. Badges, weapon traits to your weapons base damage.
@jimmorrison369 Something that I discover lately is that the bonus increase that come from pink stars are just added on top, but not multiply by any other trait, MM, hero trait, etc... as you can see on the pictures below.
-
@mik81, are you sure that badges are applied to the weapon base damage? Do you have some facts that have led you to this statement? It's strange at least because badges are a part of the survivor not of his equipment and I was sure that %damage badges were applied on top of the total damage... I have no facts to prove it, it's only my assumption.
-
@msapaev You know I can be wrong, but I'd think it is correct. Some months @jimmorrison369 posted a formula to calculate damage and badges were only modifying that part of the equation. I applied to my survivors and everything made sense. I've tried to find that thread because it was really good, but I can't now...
-
@mik81, I've found his comment on damage calculation in my discussion... what a surprise
It seems I referred to it in my calculations. Did you talk about this formula?

If you look closely to the formula, you'll see that damage badge is applied to all your damage!mik81 said:Damage comes from 2 basic sources. Your survivor base damage and your weapon base damage.

When upgrading/promoting a survivor. The damage and health that get added is calculated over your current gear, badges etc.
This means: if your survivor has %damage badges -> promoting shows a higher number. Your base survivor damage increase will be the same.
@JayZ
You should really check out that formula. It is correct.

@mik81
To further clarify my point, a lvl20 6 star to 7 star increase is about 22 damage.
In your picture it is 25.
22*1.16 =25.5 (some rounding etc...).
The pink increase in damage is 3.333% (for 2 to 3 pink) increase of something that is already only 40% of your total damage.
So that pink star gave you 1.33% damage increase
Looking again, in this case even worse. <1%

Nice I couldn't live without that increased!!
You are the best thanks for clarifying as always. -
Always remember Rosita's trait only works when u are only targeting 1 target, if any other walker is in the same field of fire sto to speak, there is no extra damage...
-
While Abe and Merle(when all enemies are a lvl or more highest than everbody) give extra damage all the time and Dwight only works on raiders and none normal walkers a and not reg. walkers
-
Ah, perfect, a thread where I can present this wonderful pun I’ve made:
Hey NG, can I please get a Rosita token? I Only Need One... -
(Seriously, I need that token. I’ve been at 499 for a week and it’s driving me nuts)
