Radio Event has been nerfed

Just when you thought the nerfs couldn’t get worse, they ruin the best event of them all.

Crates now only have an increased chance of radios, not more radios. I’d gladly give NG $$ when value presents itself. That hasn’t happened in a LOOONG time. While they worry about breaking the economy within the game with nice events, the economy that I’m giving to the game no longer exists.

If they're not doing the increased amount of radios per crate, I sure hope (to be clear, that word is "hope," not "expect") that the chance percentage for finding radios is increased higher than in the past with this event, to at least lessen the blow of not getting more per crate. Now that we can see percentages, I am looking forward to seeing what the "increased" percentage is compared to what the "normal" percentage is.

Agreed. It's too bad we couldn't see the "increased" percentage of the last time they ran the radio event to be able to compare this event to the previous event. We can only compare this event to normal drop rates.

My glass-half-full take on this event: Yay for more radios!

My glass-half-empty take on the event: Why did we have to reduce the number of radios? With the token dilution for heroes and the cost to upgrade to 2 or 3 pink stars, there's no way a couple of extra radios is economy-breaking.

I'm intrigued to see how much the booster bundle will cost and what it will include...

    NG to us:
    Grind for the challenge
    Grind for the Distance
Now grind for the "chance" of more radios

I'm sensing a pattern but I just can't put my finger on it :#

Footnote: they do this event on Mother's Day weekend...do they have mothers in Finland?? Now I'm curious...

What grind? they fixed it nah am joking we all grinding for less rounds smh

    So much negativity guys...

I'm always looking for an excuse to boost. More radios is an excuse.

Sure it's not as good as before.

I also used to get a larger variety of booty than I do now, but I won't complain. (Love my wife haha).

Enjoy what you got, instead of complaining about what you could have or used to have.

Have fun man. Life is good. Damn good.

Very well said indeed @BiggyGuyinTWD -- Life is too good to waste $$ (and more importantly, time) on such a greedy AF company. I made an exception to my desires to see almost every publicly traded company fail because this company made a game that I used to enjoy. But every decision since they went public has been a steamy pile of dung that has hindered player progress or been a cash grab.

Oh wow this is bad... Bad move.

Well if the actual chances would be higher than what they were, then it might not be so bad but otherwise...

    I'm really disappointed.

    O-oh.

If it's too much text below, read only this because it kind summarizes the whole thing:
"In order to have this event more often, we can't run it exactly as it was before. We've seen the results and they weren't the best :/. So for now, we'll check how things will go with this one and if things go well, we can certainly run it more than twice a year (which was the frequency of the previous Radio Events)."

    And now, the complete version:
    DBones said:

Now that we can see percentages, I am looking forward to seeing what the "increased" percentage is compared to what the "normal" percentage is.

The chances were doubled in all crates (Normal/Silver/Gold) and those are the same numbers from the previous events. Between Increased and Double, they would sound the same. And a "reasonable increase" is not the best way to sell an event, haha. But the drop tables will be there to clear any doubt!

    ---

As you (not you Dbones, but the community) know, we don't run this event frequently because Radios are one of our most valuable resources and therefore game-economy-breaking. I know I've been answering this very same answer a lot, but in my defense, this question is also asked a lot, haha.

A couple of radios could seem harmless if you are looking at what you are collecting alone, but when you take into account that every active player is getting those "couple more", it looks terrifying as hell. :cold_sweat:

In order to have this event more often, we can't run it exactly as it was before. We've seen the results and they weren't the best. So for now, we'll check how things will go with this one and if things go well, we can certainly run it more than twice a year (which was the frequency of the previous Radio Events).

Hey @Kaz - just throwing it out there. Some people have suggested supplies for radios, and a radio-active themed weekend seems like a great opportunity to do that. I'm sure a lot of the folks who are unhappy about the reduction in mission radios would feel a lot better if they were able to trade their supplies for radios.

The people who are maxed out in supplies are probably those who are the most active or spend the most on the game, so the trade would be in line with the whole "rewarding people for being active" theme.

It's a valid point for sure and I've suggested it to the team already (not only Radios particularly, but other resources for supplies). However, it's also a valid point that it greats diminish the value of Radios since you wouldn't be using those tomatoes on anything else.

    But wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We get a chance to BUY more radios!!! The compassion NG is showing us by ALLOWING us to buy more radios is more than my heart can take!!

If you are looking for Radios and are willing to spend, those deals are indeed better. But if you don't want to spend a penny, there are the free Radios you can get by playing.

    ---

But if the majority would rather have it the event with the same settings, but with less frequency, that's one way to do it as well, but I believe that having these settings with more frequency would be better for everyone. What do you guys think?

@Kaz your logic makes total sense if you plan on running this updated radio event at least 4 times a year. If it ends up being 2 (like before) or even 3, you guys have effectively lowered the radios we can get from these events.

That's the plan after we see how this one goes. (:

    @Kaz

problem is NG will only run these event twice a year opposed to 1x a year if I was playing still I rather have the 2 days where I earn 1k radios in 2 days once a year then a small increase chance that you might do what 2 or 3x a year. The company has pulled the reigns in so tight on their bundles and items, but still hasn't learned anything.

Unreal .. this decision and the timing of it could not be worse . Did the previous radio events break the game ? Or did they give people an oasis to actually progress in this game with the INSANE token costs at higher levels .. People like OLT and others who were mainly F2P players actually bought unlimited gas for these events , every time he word "generous" is thrown around with events , it seemed me that we are the ones being generous by filling NG coffers . I tired of being a labrat and waiting to see how data and analytics pan out , with this many people leaving or on the verge of leaving this game, was this the right move ? Maybe I just don't understand their business plan .. But personally I may need to find another game soon where I'm not stuck in quicksand throwing dollar bills all day to people hoping someone has a rope .

I quit spending and eventually quit playing. I focused my time and money on other things like dating and doing stuff outside the house. Pretty cool

It is interesting to know what @Kaz means specifically by these statements: "In order to have this event more often, we can't run it exactly as it was before. We've seen the results and they weren't the best" and "That's the plan after we see how this one goes." What objective results does NG want to see from this event in order to classify it as a success?

Care to clue us on what you mean by that Kaz?
