Can someone help me with interrupt?

I was trying to decipher the mechanics of interrupt as a weapon trait to see if it was worth investing in a weapon with that trait in case of a repeat No Bodyshots event. What does ‘the enemy ends its turn early’ mean? Just the one you fire at with the weapon, or all opposing forces? Any help gladly appreciated, sorry if I am being obtuse.

I see interrupt working when an Assault is in overwatch. The walker stops before it can hit you.Elder in the Top Secret Guild ⚔️

I'm interrupting this conversation. Hope this helps.
There are 3 types of attack outcomes. Body shot, normal hit, and critical hit. As the RSL (difficulty level) increases, the chance of a body shot increase, including when in overwatch.
At some point you will notice more frequent body shots. At a later point still you are guaranteed only bodysuits, except for certain exceptions (eg pierced bullets, charged attacks with some classes etc).
When your attack in overwatch is not a body shot it has a chance to interrupt the enemy attack, and you will not be hit.
Usually this trait is useless for people who can progress deep into Challenges because of pretty much guaranteed body shots, but what if this isn't the case? On no body shot days (which are rare), this game mechanic and trait can be used.
NG are probably looking at ways to make traits that aren't considered desirable more popular, and might be looking to make a change at some point in the future. If I am right, we'll see more of these from time to time, but slightly different, like we did with Challenge scoring and starting level. Time will tell, I suppose,

Was that also from the days where lucky added directly onto other traits like dodge and you could outright dodge an attack from a walker of any level? There was none of this crit -> normal attack nonsense

Fun thing was, they sold it as:
"Critical hits are now even more accurate".
In stead of :
"High RSL will own you" -
“Stop right there”, “look, a plane” or “excuse me” are all good interrupters. As far as the game is concerned, R.I.P.
