DISAGREE REACTION - REMOVE / RETURN - OTHER ALTERNATIVES?

A: Because I think it's nice to promote player's initiatives and positivity.

I understand that it feels like "losing a right" and feels that I'm punishing people for not knowing how to behave properly on a forum, but it's not the case. As I said before, my goal is to promote positivity and nothing else.

I think it's safe to assume that we all agree on having a friendly and better environment here on the forums, right? If by removing this button, I can make a friendlier and more welcoming place for those who get upset when receive a disagree, then It's a "right" I'm willing to lose, because honestly, I don't think the entire community is losing something relevant, but some are getting something positive out of it. To me, it seems a fair trade.

And yes, I know that overreacting because of disagreements and trolling are the root of the problem, but trying to re-educate the mindset of a human being is insane. It's not a forum message or banning that will resolve a situation like this, even though we try to reach out to the people involved to let them know that what they've done wasn't nice.

And last but not least, I would really like to try the "no disagree button" for some days and see how it goes. :p

    As I said in the discussion thread;

    If replaced I'd like to see; "Thank You" or "Bad Luck"
    'Congratulations' could also be an option but I guess Awesome kind of covers that. But we don't have anything to express sorry / bad luck

    We also don't have a Thank You option but I guess Like kind of covers that, although I think it would be a nice addition positive reaction to have.

    If you can come to some sort of solution that would be great.
    It might take a bit of coding but connect a disagree button to just my account, and I'll take them all.

    I think that the disagree reaction is important because anybody will always agree with all the opinions here. But we have had some cases of ppl using the disagree in a bad way. And i kind understand why @Kaz and the team decide to remove it. They are tired of this cases, and the best solution was removing it. However disagree its a reaction that ppl should know how to use it. I know why ppl always disagree with me and i know we all know why😂😂. If i dont like a post i will disagree, if i like the post well i will agree or like, if i love the post( @Jenng post i love them) or if that post is funny i lol or awesome simple as that. So ppl stop acting like a kid for a single disagree, and if you have a case of trolling or something dont post it on the forum talk it privately, and we will live in peace and love and talking about Andrea all day long. So where's the disagree reaction?😉 love y'all and love you Andrea😍😘😅

    Bring it back. I need it. Not to troll people but to let people know when they are spouting absolute BS. I rarely use the button but when I do, it is for a good reason.

    I would still love to see aditional reaction buttons. Pity, helpful, thank you... ewww, jealous... I don't know what is really "needed" but some would be cool to have.

    And BTW it would also be cool to be able to have multiple reactions. Often enough it is hard to decide wether to hit lol or awesome, for example.

    I couldn't care less about it. I don't post to see what reaction I receive so I rarely even look at who does what. I will give a `LOL', `Agree' or `Awesome' occasionally if the post deserves it. Otherwise I keep my trap shut.

    I really don't care what happens with the disagree button. I don't think I have ever used it (if anyone can confirm otherwise, please let me know......oh, and ummm, sorry, but you must have REALLY deserved it if I did). I was briefly disagree trolled a while back when I was bitching about something (I think it was the Carol event with the legendary spear, which still gives me a rash when I think about it). I PM'd the individual who hit me with the disagrees just to find out what it was all about, since there were no comments from that person, but alas, my PM was completely ignored. I was kind of annoyed with the situation, but that annoyance only lasted a day or two, after which I no longer cared one bit. But with that as background, I will say that in my opinion, if you use the disagree button, you should at least have the decency to explain what it is you disagreed with, especially if specifically requested by the person you disagreed with. Where I come from that's called common courtesy (also known as manners, or etiquette).

    Back to the point, though. I really don't give a rat's rear end what happens with the disagree button.

    If you disagree, you can always quote the statement(s) you disagree with and simply state in the comment you disagree.
    It is not that hard to work around no button AND still play nice in the sandbox.

    Yeah, let's work around something that's unnecessary. Real sensible...

    Imagine having multiple disagree comments scattered around a thread while we can just have a number on a sad smiley representing exactly when and where everybody disagrees. Keeps the forum clean.

    Personally I just think it promotes trolling and laziness. There's obviously a rich history of trolling with the disagree button which Kaz was keen to put a stop to. The forum is for discussion, if you disagree with someone you should discuss why rather than just clicking a button without even having the decency to back it up with an explanation.

    This is true to some degree.
    I'll say, leaving someone clueless about a disagree is the lamest and laziest thing one can do.

    However,
    Sometimes just the disagree is enough.

    if someone says he doesn't like apples, do you really want me to explain how I like apples and what taste on them makes me enjoy them?

    If someone tells us the sun rotates around earth, do you really want me to explain about the universe and the motion of it?

    I know I don't, call me lasy but I just won't do that. I just want to slap a disagree on it an be done with it.

    @jimmorrison369 Also true, but if I read something which is complete and unadulterated bull shit I don't even want to waste the 1 second of my time which it takes to even click the disagree button. You read a lot on the internet, much of which I'm sure you'll disagree with and I just don't think we need a button to express that.
