I think the game has enough going on to keep you busy, just my opinion. If guild wars are going to keep you tied to the game for hours a day to advance yourself personally by time or spending, I'm out. I value my time and playing this game is for enjoyment, I already have a job.

I think they're concerned too hence the survey. But survey I don't feel conveys the questions needed.

It asked if we currently play some of those games. But never asked if we used to play them. And I ask why we stopped playing them.

So my concern is the survey doesn't grasp the audience is full reason for playing and what we want out of the game.

I'm dreading the Drama that will unfold as well. Typically with guild wars coming into the game. There will be lots of guild shuffles.

Hello, everyone! I felt the hairs on my neck standing up for no reason, and that usually means that there is something happening on the forums. Seems my sixth sense was correct one again.

I'll give some information here that is very general, and relates to the questions and concerns people have. Hopefully this calms some worries.
* No one will be forced into playing Guild Wars.
* There is no "stealing" things from other Guilds - the Guilds that play more and win more often will get better prizes, but everyone that plays will earn rewards based on their performance.
* There will be leaderboards to compare guilds against each other, and to compare members of a guild against the other members of the same guild.
* You can be in a guild that plays in the Guild Wars and not play yourself because of time or desire, and this will not penalize you in any way.
* The rewards for GW will be exclusive to that game mode for some time, but when the rewards rotate out, they will be available in other parts of the game later on. So you can get the same stuff as the GW players, but may have to wait a bit longer.
* There will be ways to play for free, but players can play in GW even more if they play other game modes or spend money.
* Even free players will be able to earn some of the best rewards in GW.
* You will need to coordinate with your guild and try to be online at the same time as your guild members to play, but the length of an event is less than an hour.
* We have looked at many other Guild Wars modes from other games, and are specifically avoiding issues that lead to feelings of heavy obligation, burnout, or shaming between guild members.
* You will still be able to contribute to your Guild's success in Challenges, focus on completing the Distance, or simply keep up with your friends without making it impossible for those guild members to do well in Guild Wars and earn prizes.
* You will be fighting against other players' survivors and Heroes, so now is a good time to train a great team or three and get them geared up.

There is, of course, a lot more to be learned about the game mode. If you want to help us shape the final version of the feature, you can always PM @Kaz to apply to be a beta tester. We're hoping to add more details, and even share some game screens or video, as we get closer to completing the feature so that everyone can learn and help spread our excitement.

Guild Wars has been a very highly requested feature for a very long time. We have also learned a lot about player preferences and desires since launching Outposts. We want to make a feature that makes people excited to play as much as they want, but doesn't punish people for not playing 24/7, or for wanting to stick to Challenges. The idea is to create a better community through fun competition and working with your friends, and not to breed negative feelings by making a punishing experience.

I probably can't share much more just yet - our first playtest with players outside the company is hopefully next week, and we want things to be a surprise for them - but if you have more questions, it's great to ask them here or in a PM so I can return to them when we are ready.

Not thrilled about the 1 hour sessions. Basically it's the format used by road to survival. Rewards being exclusive for top guild for a while. Rotating it out months later. So yea. I might have to bounce after trying it out. Will give it a chance but it pretty much sounds like what I've already experienced before in other games. And I have played them for over a year and half with road to survival and half a year of star wars. And short periods of other games.

Based on the things you've said it's way too similar to what Ive already seen.
