Game Shutting Down On Free Ads - Unfortunately, The Walking Dead has stopped

I saw someone mention this somewhere but couldn't find the thread.
Today, just recently everytime I attempt to play free video add at camp or after mission the game stops and I get this message;



I press ok and game closes, I reload game and I will get the rewards from both camp and three extra after mission crates but a little anoying to say the least.

A few more details - I'm using Android and never seen anything like this before. (On this game anyway)
I press button to play video, screen goes black with little volume control in bottom left, just as usual as add is about to begin then to what I've posted in pic above.

Have you tried clearing the cache? This worked for me. Pretty much the NML equivalent to 'Have you trying turning it off and on again?'

Yes. Tried clearing cache with no difference. I should have mentioned that in my original post.

Your comment got me thinking and feeling a little stupid.

I thought maybe I should do the complete obvious and do a full shut down of my phone and see if that helps.

It did.

Working fine now but I'll keep this thread open for others and if I have trouble in the near future.

I'm experiencing same issue. Yes shutting down phone appears to work but issue comes back again. Android also (Galaxy S8).

Have you noticed what ad?

It's a Star Wars one that throws my iPad for a loop. Locks up for about 1.5 minutes mostly, sometimes crashes the game.

Resetting Ad ID helps me avoid it for awhile, but it keeps returning. Frustrating cause I've never even looked at a Star Wars game in the Apple store. Not sure why they keep throwing it at me.

My screen goes black so no way to tell what ad is running. The ad with the very good looking, neat and thin gentlemen in suits appears to run just fine. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
