Rotating Moderator Idea

Hey @Kaz @zbot @David_H79 @Cherokee_Rose ,

I was thinking that it would be an interesting proposal to have people rotate into being forum moderators for a set period of time. I think it could give the community a sense of involvement and perhaps some understanding as well for what you do.

To be clear I am not saying that they would replace any of you as moderators and MANY I am sure would not want to have that responsibility but I don't see it hurting the community for those to experience it if they so desired. We had police ride alongs in my community when I was in law enforcement and it brought the community together a bit in my opinion.

The selections would obviously need to be well thought out and researched; however I think that for those interested in seeing that side of the forum community it could be a good experience and perhaps help the community in general being more understanding, supportive and involved.

I am guessing this post will get a few funny responses and perhaps a few interested people perhaps but just a thought of mine. And I will abstain from applying.... Lmao

Hm... Interesting... 🤔

I think bringing the community closer to understand how we work and bringing a different point of view to tackle the problems we have is a cool idea and might be beneficial to both parties. But maybe I need to understand a bit more how this idea will be applied.

The current problems we still have in this community is that sometimes people are pretty harsh towards other players who have a different opinion and some random spam we get every week, so the first one is something that we don't really need a mod to do so, and the second one doesn't look like a big problem since we have spam filters and stuff.

However, I do think that more community initiatives that we can support sounds awesome and I would love to see some new ideas, but I think I'm maybe missing the point of this one... What this short-term mod would be doing, for example?
