Guild War Mechanics - Getting Started?

Do my number one question right now is - How do we get into a battle/war?

Meaning:
Does the game determine battle times and we all just show up?

Or is it more like Outpost Raiding and a group can search for a battle when they want?

if so, who starts the search? Can any guild member do it or just leaders/elders?

I'd like to plan, but not sure how?

My apologies if this has been answered already.

I’d love to see an actual demo of how it is going to work. I really don’t know the mechanics. Do we have to place defenders in the maps like Outposts? How do we sign up? What happens if someone dies? Is it a fail or can we keep going like in The Distance?

Or, I’ll just wait and load up my murder crew with my best gear and running shoes...

I don't think it was asked before. It was briefly explained during Pain's interview, but it wasn't very straightforward...

There's a battle every hour after the war starts. You arrange with your guild what's the best time for you and your guildmates to join a battle. You show up on time, join the battle and play it. But there are timers to let you know when a battle starts.

And, it'll be a lot easier when the battle actually starts, haha. Or at least I hope so.

There hasn't been a lot of information regarding gw apart from pw videos. My main question is how to involve the whole guild in gw when we're from many different countries. Will the players in gmt + 8 be able to do battle in the one previously started or do they have to begin a new one?

1st guild wars will be an absoulute chaos but intense just like 1st beta test was.

I'm strangely looking forward to it, it'll be fun even if you'll have no idea what you're doing because that's how I felt 1st time 😆

I don’t understand why everything has been so cryptic. The vids/previews were okay, but the lack of information on Guild Wars has been frustrating to say the least.

No communication equals unhappy customers.

Guess chaos is what NG wants.

It’s really difficult to explain it, it’s better to play and and you will learn don’t worry. My videos where there to provide some sort of visual explanation and to show how things will look like.

Does anyone know how this affects those of us who have mixed country guilds? Appologies if i missed this..

What I'm trying to get round is how we pick a co-ordinator? especially as I can be 6-7 hours out of some of our chat.

What i'm concerned about is this leading to guilds based soley on timezones (In affect we end up with National Guilds).

Valid concerns. I’m sure all of us like to keep it spicy and be in cohoots with people from all over the world. It brings cultures together and I certainly wouldn’t want to be in a guild that didn’t have variety.

In my opinion it will be possible to stay in united nations guilds because the entire 20 can’t participate at the same time. It will be 7-10 max at a time and with 3 keys a day per person I’m positive there are night owls, early risers and free time worldwide.

You might have to coordinate a little and motivate but it is possible.

@Kaz, @General_Pain, what happens with the initial 3 keys on Sunday 8:00 ( when you are granted with the next 3 keys) if you don't spend them? Will you have 6 key, or you will lose initial keys and will have only 3?

So I got a question regarding Guild Wars... I’m indeed in a guild i have a council over level 12, but i’m in a guild where it’s just me and a friend... that friend doesn’t play the game anymore so i’m alone pretty much... now, from what I understand, this means I won’t be able to play guild wars when it starts soon?

@Snoekieman2000 There are a lot of guilds currently recruiting active players. If you want to play in GW, you may want to consider joining an active guild. Good luck!

yup, you need minimum 7 players in a guild to play GW

Go check out the guild recruitment thread here on the forum you'll find loads of active guilds. I'd recommend greenhorns or valkyries if they are recruiting at the moment!

As someone who has been loyal to his guild since its conception years ago, we have a high turnover of players but have around 7 maximum players that are dedicated. But we all play a different times. Are we unable to do guild wars? do seven players have to be online at the same time? If so I don't think a lot of guilds are going to be able to enjoy this new feature.

Totally agree,my guild is very active but to arrange for 7 players to be on at the same time is going to be a task,most play at different times due to work,other commitments and lets not forget players from different countries, im not hopeful this will workout,sorry to sound pessimistic about it.

Another question @Kaz sooo people like me who’s on a guild and leaves on the other side of the world and not gonna be able to be on at 8 people’s time In the guild and another one @TheKid has my problem in the same guild so how would that work with people that ain’t flexible like me
