Elder Status

This has been brought up many times before but worth asking again now since we have a new update coming out.

Is there any way you guys can change the Elder role for 3.4 so that either:

1) An Elder cannot kick out another Elder

Or

2) An Elder can only accept people into a guild and not have the authority to banish.

A friend of mine had his old guild wiped out recently due to an Elder freakout whereas this person cleared out the entire guild before leaving himself.

I know peeps are going to say that you need to be careful who you make Elder and I agree but I am hoping a change can be made to prevent this from happening in the future.

I would hate for someone to get kicked from a guild that they like and perhaps quit the game not knowing why they were booted. That's not good for NG or your customers.

This happened in WATCH TOWER PHX yesterday, a long standing member didn’t hit the guild minimum so Irish booted them and got called out on it, he then had a hissy fit and booted everyone. The power to kick players should be for the guild leader alone.

I was kicked out there too lol didnt even knew what happened. But i and most of us found our way back. I agree with op post

I definitely agree as well. Right now, it's difficult to gauge the workload for the winter update, but this is definitely in consideration and I will bring it up

I totally agree with finding a solution for elders kicking out an entire guild in rage or just because they're an ass****.

However i think this should be given some serious thought because while it fixes one potential problem it exacerbates another one, namely the problem where the guild leader becomes inactive, can't be reached and/or doesn't transfer his leadership to an elder.

People who are very attached to their guild try to work around that now but since no-one can be kicked out in @vshield50 proposal this guild is a goner for sure.

So you can't fix the Elder problem without fixing the leadership problem.

I would propose a system where the elders can apply to the current leader for leadership via a button on the teamscreen and if he doesn't refuse within a certain amount of time (for instance two weeks) leadership is transfered to the first elder who applied.

If kick is finally removed for elders, could you please consider the creation of an associate leader position who also shares this power in case the leader has to leave temporarily for whatever reason? Everyone needs to take a break now and then, including leaders. My $.02.

I propose that game would automatically strip leadership, when leader is inactive for more than a month, and assign it to the next most active player.

I visited a Watchtower guild recently (my guilds were full) and was promoted to elder immediately, before I even said a word...

I was like... Ummm... Thanks?

I guess I passed their trustworthy tests?

I just needed a place to bang out some stars for the week.

Not my place to tell anyone how to order their own house, but... well... I could have been an as psycho, you know?

Sometimes the simplest solution is the best one. As you said... be careful who you make elder.

(for the record @Fluxxx I want my elders to continue to have the power to promote/banish, but it doesn't make sense for them to be able to demote each other. I agree that only leaders should be able to demote an elder)

How about leaving the Elder title, but strip all associated powers that go with it. Then let leader assign admin rights to 1 or 2 other members.

Elder seems to be mostly used in guilds as a way to distinguish those that have been there for a while or who have met certain achievements (like hit 500* in challenge).

I promote to elder for 1k stars, it takes a reasonable effort to reach that so I feel I can trust them.
@ATLAS-Z I think with you being a well known player that would be why you were promoted quickly, which guild was it?
CR has been visited by @rchap, @ricktada and @naterator_WTA and I knew those guys were trustable.
I do think if a leader goes inactive then support should be able to help on request from other guild members, I've often thought if something happens to me my guild would be stuck with me as leader and no way to change it.

Hey @ATLAS-Z ,
thanks for the help on the challenge that week! WT12 is a very chill place, and we have very little change in our group because the requirements are so low. I think our boss used to use elder as a form of keeping tracks of minimums, so you get demoted if you don't make your minimum without a good reason. We will not be continuing to do this after what happened to PHX.

The few that participate in the annihilation of guilds sure do tarnish the trustworthy names of elders in general. Whatever the final action is on elders it’s always a good idea to carefully pick the powers that be with caution, a little side eye, and with other routes of communication in place ........ in case of entire destruction.

This seemed to be the most recent post on the topic and we've had a few updates since. Any updates @Fluxxx ?

I still think it's crazy that this game is however many years old now and this was never resolved. Is there some crazy thing in the code that just won't let it happen without a major overhaul?

Granted, it shouldn't be an issue for established guilds, but still, in any game a rank level should not have peer modification rules. Let elders boot members and whatnot, but to be able to affect the whole team besides the leader seems like an oversight from the beginning.
