Thanks for videos you always did. Just finished MM out in open 41 for easy 3 stars. That is reasons why needed a rounded team and not just scouts and bruisers.

    @JayZ

Maybe you can bring this details about special weapons to your list. Would be great to know the damage increasment (%).

Hi @JayZ and all you guys that contribute to this post. I just purchased 150 re-roll tokens from the guild war shop and tried to improve my Stabby Rick, RGG and bruiser Morgan. All 3 turns gave 2 absolutely useless options and I declined the trade. : (

Contained in this compendium, there is a section on switching to the 6 x DR cycle of badges (that I have now used - and it works thanks so much!). I was wondering if there was any compiled data on re-rolling traits - I assume there must be some sort of pattern as there is with crafting badges. I hear so many stories of people re-rolling 3 times in a row and getting the same rubbish options or alternating between 2 pairs of rubbish options.

It takes about a month (under normal circumstances) for me to earn 50 re-roll tokens, and I am so sick of wasting them and the accompanying survivor tokens. It is by far the most frustrating part of the game for me. Thanks to this compendium, I now know which traits I need - but unless I win the lottery it will take about 6 months or a year to fix even 1 hero. If anybody has any tips on this - I would LOVE to hear them!

Definately there are are lists for traits, since all your choices have an effect for the next outcome

@Johnny_B I'm not aware of anyone compiling any data on this, but I don't see any reason for the rerolls not being totally random. As there are about 10 different traits, of which your hero has 4, it is only a 2/6 chance of getting the desired one. So it's not that uncommon to miss 3 times.

Also, if you decide to not not accept any of the offered options, those two will be out for the next reroll. So it's always best to decline, rather than taking a suboptimat trait. Also you get half of the hero tokens returned.

BTW, what are you trying to reroll on SRick? Most everyone are happy with his original traits.

    Hi @Burmeliinis, One of my guild tried to upgrade his Sasha last week and it was a disaster. I don't know the specifics of each roll just the broad strokes, but it went something like this;

First go he got 2 rubbish ones (not sure which but for example - bullet dodge and dodge) then on his 2nd roll got another 2 rubbish ones (say for example Defensive Stance and Iron Skin) - all useless hunter traits. On his 3rd roll he got a repeat of his 1st roll options, and on his 4th roll was a repeat of his 2nd. Okay he got some Sasha tokens back for declining but spent 200 re-roll tokens and a ton of Sasha tokens for absolutely no benefit.

He did kick up a fuss with NG but didn't get anywhere.

I also read in a post on here (can't find it now) of someone complaining that he got EXACTLY the same 2 rubbish traits - 3 rolls in a row. That hasn't happened to me as I rarely have the tokens to do 3 in a row but I do believe it is possible.

The reason I ask if anyone is compiling data on this is because since we know there is a pattern for badge crafting there has to be a pattern for re-rolling traits - we are after all talking about programming, so nothing is truly random - some programmer in NG has to plan the randomness - and from all the complaints I have heard about you can bet that for the most part these 'random' offerings favour the crappy traits.

With Stabby Rick I was going to see if I could get lucky instead of Iron skin, not because he's a priority but because I had the Rick tokens handy and also because I could do with all the luck I can get!

Stabby Rick doesn't have Iron Skin, unless you rerolled it to him at some point. Maybe you mean Huntsman Daryl?

I think there is a pretty big difference between badges and rerolls. The developers always said that recipe affects the badge outcome and they also hinted at pattern recognition. With rerolls they say it's random, just like Phone Call or chest outcomes.

A lot of people have complained about "wrong" chest and radio results, but nobody who has actually tracked the outcomes have found anything other than the inevitable streaks of bad luck.

I took some bad advice from a video on line a short while ago (before I discovered this compendium) and messed up some of my guys really badly, and it will take me a VERY long time to fix them which makes it sting all the more when you save loads of re-roll tokens and they turn out to be duds - you'd think on 3 re-rolls you'd get at least one useful trait..

Dont worry about it. Sometimes get lucky and sometimes dont. Took me 4 tries to get luck ok michonne I wanted to scream.

I have never typed on a board before, but signed up and am taking the time as your guide is awesome! I have a spreadsheet with 12 tabs filled out with my strategy (I would post it if I knew how) and am changing pretty much everything I have been doing after what I learned from you! Thanks and looking forward to more fun play!

I've been using my own "less is more" table for the rewards (VP) + highest difficulty offset, and RP in the header. It's not as complete as the picture you have but a lot easier to scan through.

Good things happen when we get GW breaks!

I didn't touch the game in the last two days, which allowed me to make some major updates to the strategy compendium.

First, a number of new tips and video links were added to the General tips for succeeding the Challenge and the Distance. Even if you've read it before, it might be a good refresher!

Second, I have created a comprehensive guide on how end-gamers build their melee survivors. This includes a description of how survivors are used, recommended traits on survivors/gear (as well as a description WHY those traits are important and how they interact with other traits), and videos showing how I like to use these survivors (all of them are level 45+ to show how they are best used at the end-game).

I hope to produce a similar guide for ranged survivors soon.

I love what you did with bruisers! Very informative! Here are 2 quick comments about it.

    1) I know you mention this is for "high level play" but for those of us aspiring to reach it one day playing with Tara in the lead and 2 bruisers can be very instructional. It's a great way to learn about movement for your bruisers, when to use them for an attack and when to use them on overwatch, how to make and maintain a wall at higher levels, how to stun and kill at choke points or create choke points with stuns, and how to keep a ranged hero at distance alive and moving. And all of this is learned in a much more forgiving environment with Tara as lead. Also, now Tara can help your bruisers heal back up to 3 stars at the end of a mission with a few extra charges.

For undeveloped bruisers, the heals can be a crutch. For developed bruisers, the heals are a nice substitute untill premium health% badges can be crafted since the premium dr% badges have to come first. And for super duper bruisers, the heals are no longer really neccessary. It can be a smooth transition.

A couple tips for players looking to do this.
-Tara uses Revenge really well when bruisers are getting popped every turn
-Morgan needs Lucky early in development, he self charges well and can heal nearly every turn
-Glenn is easy early on, i think he needs 1 fewer rerolls if i remember correctly

    2) You mention the trait Iron Skin. Iron skin as a trait is completely irrelevent after development and i should expect would be rerolled by every end gamer without exception. And items aren't needed for this either. With what the comnunity now knows about badging, reaching 80% dr (67% from badges and then set bonus on top of that) is at this point little more than a reflex. 2 full rotations with jumps around the newly created badging map and adiquate gold components should have 1 or 2 bruisers at perfect 80% dr without traits or items.

I've never finished distance on Hard or purchased components in anyway (even gw rewards, over priced for me) and I've been able to do this. I am far from an end gamer. I have 7 or 8 heroes at 24, the rest are lower and many still locked. I have very little gear, including nothing remotely close to level for warriors or assaults. I'm upgrading training yard right now to unlock hero lvl 26 and scratching my head at where all that needed xp is going to come from as I'm a level and a half away from it. And I'm getting 1200 stars a week from Tara and Morgan and my dpt hero of the day.

Hello everyone! I am a beginner player. I tried creating badges for your instructions. Thank you, JayZ! But the idea occurred to me how to make the creation of badges more correct. We can offer this new system to developers. They promised to make the badge-making mode better. Let's hope they enjoy this new system

In this way, we will understand when creating badges what exactly and in which sector we will do. The bonus of the badge will be unknown and the value of the badge too.

@ghost_pepper one day you'll have nothing to use XP on so enjoy that while you can ;-)

@JayZ kudos to you and the time you take to do this.

You're a saint and a scholar my friend, these guides help so many and you do it and ask nothing in return.

    Mad respect.

We can offer developers the opportunity for players to change the sector and position of the created badges so that novice players can also assemble the right set of badges for their heroes. Let it cost, for example, 15 gold each shift of the badge by category or position.

How do you know if you have 80% DR ?
  • Paste
    Paste Member Posts: 846 ✭✭✭✭✭
You summarize the DR from weapon (tactical trait), armor (Iron Skin), character (Iron Skin) and your badges (use their effect before set bonus and apply the 20% set bonus yourself) @Reeconn

    3.  Alternative recipes The following recipes should have the same effect as using one of each component (Metal-Edible-Chemical-Cloth). Using ANY of these recipes will allow you to craft the same badges as those displayed in the chart above, and will not alter your cycle.

Question 1 :  Can the  alternative crafting be done at anytime or does it have to be done after switching badge cycles

Question 2 : when using alternative crafting recipes which is the most preferred from the list

  • Burmeliinis
    Burmeliinis Member Posts: 1,245 ✭✭✭✭✭
Basically, there are 3 different recipes.
    - Normal recipe, which gives the result as defined by the cycle
    - Effect change recipe, which gives a random effect, but the bonus is defined by the cycle
    - Jump recipe, where the effect comes from the cycle, but the bonus is random. If the resulting bonus switches from bonus->no bonus or bonus->no bonus, you have succeeded in making a jump and the next badge will be from the spot you jumped to.

The alternative recipes are NORMAL recipes, these 15 will always give the expected results from what ever pattern you are currently on.

Hi @JayZ, I thought you might like to have a look at this video. It's the 4th of my Origins update animations and I mention you in the section about crafting.

Quick question, I was under the impression that on hunters crit aim was more important than marksman but on shooters marksman was more important than crit aim. Is that correct? The reason I ask is that with the release of my 3rd update video on the Rick upgrade, I advised people that the best traits were Ruthless, Lucky, Revenge and Marksman, but some people are saying it's better to have Ruthless, Lucky, Revenge and Crit Aim.

    Hello,

under the heroes section where certain weapons are mentioned, I have never seen swift strike spear, is this weapon no longer available? Also, is pitch fork has same special function as tactical spear?
