Congratulations to the champions of GW Beta season 2!



Just wanted to say thank you to all of my teammates for another great season. We have players in Australia, China, Italy, UK, U.S., Brazil, and many other countries, and it took an insane amount of coordination to pull this one off. Some players would set 4 AM alarms to wake up and help finish battles, others would get calls at 1 AM to be alerted to help kill humans. One particularly trouble-making player would sneak online to kill humans when he had a break from taking care of his family.

This marks the second season in a row! Beta season 1 results below. But honestly... I could use a long break before we try this again

And I know that we're not the only guild that is full of dedicated players pushing their hardest in GW. A lot of respect to our opponents, who played some great battles. I wanted to share some of the fun battles we played, and the context behind them.

First off, our battle against our own guild family. There was surprisingly not as much trash-talking as I would have expected. I think everyone in OG was really nervous, because we had seen NWO score 8k+ in some battles. @avelardez the Doom Slayer was playing in NWO that week, and he was sharing videos of his 6-H level 46 missions, so yeah, we were scared...

Next, a battle against La Fenice of Italy (which, as I learned from my friend @karlino means "The Phoenix" in English). We thought we had this one wrapped up, and then we saw their score jump by 500 points at the end. A nerve-wracking experience, to say the least...

This GW season might have been defined by our three insane battles against @JayUGin, @SektorPriz, and the mighty Russians of Red Machine.

Part 1: The first encounter. Red Machine was #1 in the Leaderboards at the time (week 2). We needed this win to take the lead.



Part 2: The day right after we played them, we were matched with them again. Red Machine got their revenge this time, handing us our only loss of the season.



Part 3: This came in the final week. The stakes were high for both teams. Winner of the battle would be the only team that could compete with WW for #1 overall.

And finally... the only time we've gone head-to-head against WW in the last two seasons. After our loss against Red Machine, we knew this was our only chance to compete with WW at the end of the season...



And we certainly did compete with WW. We earned this score in our very last battle against @Koolo and Taiwan Guild.



At the time, this was an all-time high score for us. We played almost perfect that day, knowing that the season was on the line. At the time, we had a narrow lead for first place. WW had saved their battle for the last day. But we thought, no way WW would score even close to the 9110 points they needed to catch up this season. Well, we learned to never doubt WW.



Our friends (rivals) in WW scored an all-time GW high, missing only one attack in the last day of season 2.

16 battles this season, and it comes down to 2 tiny points in the end. One more successful attack earlier in the season, or a slightly different route in one battle, was the ultimate difference in the final result.

Huge, huge congratulations to WW. They are the fiercest competitors, as you can see in the challenge leaderboards every week. I've learned a lot from their elite players by hiding in their challenge chat and seeing the videos they post. And @Karajoca is one of the best GW captains I've ever seen. This crazy man watches scores all day, and knows exactly what route your team will take based on how your score changes. I've heard he's going to be taking a break, but I hope GW season 3 is a little less crazy than this season, so he can come back, and we can battle again soon.

I couldn't care less about GWs but I care about my teammates and friends, and seeing this engagement, dedication and commitment makes my heart warm.

I love being in Mavericks and love seeing my crew happy. It's a full package right now.

Could name a lot of people responsible for this, either our beasts that clear higher lvls or our support workers that clear humans, but above all: our man @Pic for being simply the greatest person ever, and @mimica and @JayZ the not-addicted-at-all players that do all the planning and coaching for our team. We couldn't do this without you!

Yes, yes, everyone has heard your calls to abolish GW. If I had a dollar for every time you've said that, I'd be able to buy the 6500 gold bundle (and I still would barely have enough gold for a single season of GW).

It’s beyond dispute that you’ve done a tremendous job coordinating your die-hard team-mates from all these countries, @Karajoca This one goes out to you sincerely 👏👏👏
It’s usually a 6 hour stretch for us, but this... is just wow. I guess it’s burning.
I didn’t have a chance to compete with your guild this time kicking back in Red Machine 2, yet it was a thriller to watch the RMvsMOG match.
Take this break to reunite with the families, look at the sun, and let your eyes have a little rest.
Hopefully, you won’t see red any time soon 😂

NG will not want to set up rewards that feed the rich, already way to much bitching that there is not enough in the game for the lower level or F2P players. It is like our system where we do not reward the winners of kids sporting events but give out participation awards.

I would love to see a reward for top 5 and then a tier reward, all given at the end of a season (or war.) Give us something to fight for, this would help with teams that are always complaining about losing to better teams, keep fighting for the end prize.

It was definitely an intense few battles. @Troublemaker i know what you mean by doing something to watch your guildmates be happy.
@JayZ one hell of a guild war captain along with @mimica they both are amazing players and incredible strategist.
@xbamfx was the first person to introduce us to a strategy that was perfected by Mims later on awesome player and really a great person.
I'd tag everyone but if you're in and out of Mavericks OG/NWO you all did an absolutely amazing job this season. I wouldn't want to play anywhere else.
When you play with a team for so long and compete at the levels that we do you cannot help but get to know people. It's really a honor and a privilege. This win isn't just OGs win but Mavericks itself. I had a blast playing against WW this season, I hope we run into you all again next season. It's never an easy win with you all 😂 my words exactly "They need 9100+ to beat us top score 8600-8900" yeaaah I won't sleep on you all next time. 😉

Anyway you all have a wonderful day! Let's see what season 3 has for us, I'm really hoping for a week break in between wars this time @Fluxxx its exhausting for the player and the coordinators.

Love the idea of rewarding the top guilds, even if it’s something like what has been suggested in other threads but a little sticker or mark in your guild screen. Could be the master tier symbol for first, gold for 2nd, silver for 3rd and bronze for 4th. And you get one each season. Could go here...

NG can't even do something as minimum and silly as an special pop up that say/congrats your guild for winning the season, so...

Sorry guys, that needs a major update .. otherwise this can't be done, because our code is so old.
