When player levels were taken into account for matching, I know some guilds made 4 or 5 low-level accounts in order to get a better match.
I don't think player level should be considered unless that loophole is resolved.

I really don't understand NG's matchmaking system for Guild wars. Our Guild puts up on average 32,000 to 35,000 Stars each week. But we consistently get put up against guilds that can score 45,000 to 55,000 Stars every week. while we do win more than we lose I feel like every single fight we have to push ourselves well beyond our comfort zones to chance staying above. and every war we have at least two fights we know 100% we are going to lose no matter what we do.
doesn't it stand to reason that we might on occasion go up against another team that actually puts up less stars then us? Why do we always have to struggle this hard for our wins?
Or at the very least put us up against the guild that is on even playing field with us.
And I know what you're going to say if we're winning more than we're losing our Guild wars rating would be higher but even at the beginning when we were just bronze and silver we were going up against teams that we had no right going up against.
We have gone up against at least four global top 40 teams and 2 top 10 teams.
Todays match up global #11 team. Meanwhile we are like 300-400 global(I'm guessing).

Challenge Stars are not considered for Guild War matching at all.Your opponent's VP is around 110,000, isn't your guild about the same? and both are10 players , so it's fair matchmaking.It's hard to get 10 people a day in an inactive guild. So if you have 10 players, even in Bronze, you are more likely to play against active guilds.

We're talking the difference of 20,000 star ratings in challenges, and our 2 star Heroes vs their 4 and 5 star Heroes.
Meanwhile you're winning only 2 of the remaining 3 by a margin of less then 50 pts and to do so you're having to spend ridiculous funds on grenades and medkits. -

Wrong matchmaking is when you play in 9 against a team of 10
..into every league or competition there are teams..and they are never on the same level of “Strong”... otherwise as i said in my first post no one should run against Usain Bolt and there will be no Olympics or soccer league because there are always teams playing against stronger ones..."Always be yourself unless you can be a capybara. No one wants to see an NHL hockey team completely and utterly destroy a minor league team.
Another example would be a football team made up of 5th graders playing a football team made up of 10th graders.... Who thinks that's fair?

if you have a top 50 team put them against other top 50 teams simple as that. -
You need to know how many stars you both have over the season to see if matchmaking is fair. Unfortunately neither of you are on the global leaderboards so can’t tell. Anyone know anyone from sister squad to find out what their season score is so far?

Victum is right and anyone arguing against his well made point is wrong.
Challenge stars and gw performance/ranking are not a straight line equivalent. We all know this. But several metrics were mentioned. Whichever are used doesn't matter. Pick some new ones to add. Gw points isn't enough.
I'll say that again. Gw points isn't enough to ensure fair matching. -
Create more Tier levels so teams are in a smaller more equal groups? If the Tiers are too big the bottom teams will always be up against superior teams.

Yes. More tier levels. And wins and loses in a week should be a metric against getting matched up a tier the following week.
In addition to tiers, teams should be prioritized in matching against other teams with the same win-loss ratio from the previous week. Teams that go 4-0 the previous week should be facing each other the next week. Teams that go 3-3 should be facing each other the next week. Teams that go 1-5.. etc. There are very different numbers of matches on a given week.
This prevents a team that goes 2-3 or 3-2 on one week from being matched against another team that went 4-0 or 6-0 the previous week when there are more appropriate opponents for each out there.
Taking number of wins into account is also good for appropriate matching. A team that goes 6-0 is different than a team which goes 3-0. Compare the number of wins as well.

I think you are overestimating the number of guilds. This game is not played by millions of players so if you increase the number of Tiers we only end up in a situation where you battle the same handful of guilds from week to week. I personally like to battle different guilds every time, even if that sometimes mean the matches aren't entirely even.
Also worth remembering is that the actual players in the battle can have a huge effect on your score. We have 3 players in our guild that can play the hard maps, and our score will vary hugely depending on if two of them are playing or if none are.Ingame username: Jubjab -

we’re usually have more losses than wins w/ varying player levels too but at least you earn rp & get something for loss. Go for best are rp for team and win or lose battle your still rewarded not bad in my book!

I agree with you and after the last update it got even worse because now on the first day, my mix that doesn't even appear in the global top is facing one of the biggest guilds in the game
