Fast Walkers retaliation

Hi @Vane @zbot @Fluxxx,

First off, I love the introduction of fast walkers into GW. Creates new surprises and is a lot of fun.
I’m okay with them Retaliating, even though I can be on the back end of it.
But when I have a Fast walker stunned, He is then punished and the attack hasn’t created more time to the stun. The fast walker will retaliate from the Punish move.
Not from a normal attack, but a PUNISH strike.
And he was initially STUNNED!
I love the different and added difficulty the fast walkers provide in GW. But to me this is absolute bullocks that he can retaliate me from being stunned.

I can not understand why he would be able to attack me this manner.
Did it cost me a match just gone? Haha maybe
😁
But this has been a problem I have noticed. It is a bug? Or is this how they work? I almost don’t like standing next to them with my Bruiser incase I miss the stun from the punish.
If this topic has already been mentioned, can you post the link so I can back read the information provided.
Once again. Thank you for their introduction. To me I have enjoyed the challenge and difficulty they prove.
All the best.

If stunned for 1 turn, then punish don't re-stun him, walker "wake up" and retaliate on punish, yes.

However, if this happen, then on your next turn you can attack him how many times you want he won't retaliate - he used retaliation already.

So, i think it works ok. Punish activates practically on enemy turn, unless walker is stunned for 2 turns, he should be able to retaliate

    @Karajoca

    its a very fine line.
In between stunned and then the next turn

I’m okay with them retaliating but a current to retaliate I’m not agreeable. Especially through a punish that we don’t control

Personally I think it shouldn't be happening. Punish is supposed to be a free hit at the end of both turns and therefore shouldn't be something that is retaliated.  I've had times where my bruiser goes into struggle because he was low on health and punish happened to hit a fast walker coming out of stun. Stun should keep the walker stunned, then punish and if it's a body shot that's where the walker should be free from stun, at the start of the next turn. I obviously wouldn't take the risk of attacking a fast walker with a low health bruiser at risk of struggle...

    100% agree

    Don't punish the punisher

Or of you keep it as is, maybe consider disabling fast walker grab

Say they are to skinny and weak for grapple, they just smack and snack

    Edit to add:
This could add another tactical element, if a player bruiser with low health could purposely smack a fast walker, get retaliated into red, thus avoiding the grab of a nearby tank??

@brucewayne007 , for these instances, it's best to detail out the steps, and a video on 1x speed helps.  I've noticed that the game has a habit of skipping a few steps in animation so the steps seem out of order.

Check out this clip, this is shithousery of the highest order

Summary: walker attacks T-dog to force the struggle, revenge/CA frees him, an attack from a distant fast walker and then a double retaliate from the worst punish imaginable ends the mission. Absolute horse shit, this should not be happening on punish or beat em up.

    i understand it all.
But the final walker that deal the the killer blow was previously stunned.
And yes yes I know. How unlucky this death was. I couldn’t believe my eyes haha

After watching the video some more, it’s really a tough pill to swallow.

43,525 Health in total I had.
    As @WellyLuga said:
T-Dog was grabbed by the 1st L44 walker as he lost his remaining health of 11,594 and was grabbed.
Sasha revenge attacked the original L44 walker that has T-Dog grabbed and the Critical Aim trait worked and released T-Dog.
Now an extra L45 fast walker comes down and attacks Him, so T-Dog retaliates as that is in his traits. Because he misses the stun the fast walker then retaliates for his 2nd strike on my Bruiser.
T-Dog still alive at this stage, he then Punish attacks the 3 Walkers in front of him. Stuns the original walker that had him grabbed. But the L45 Fast walker who was stunned initially “wakes up”, and the L45 Fast walker to the right angle both miss getting stunned from the punish so they both Retaliate and hit my Bruiser.
The last Retaliation dealt the killer blow.
I went into that position with 11,594 Health, and then another 31,931 worth of Health in the 2nd lot.
Explain to me why a fast walker should attack from a Punish attack whilst stunned on the previous move since he can’t move/Overwatch/attack on his play. But can still give me “what for”.
Retaliation from a Punish attack I disagree with anyway. It should be only from an attack or Overwatch attack.
And if you want to play it like this, Let my Bruiser retaliate every Walker that attacks me. Not just once!
And let us dictate who we direct our Punish too.
I truly would like some clarity why we get shafted with the Punish trait from fast walkers.

There's another possible solution here although it may make things a little op

This was brought up in another thread but it makes little sense that an enemy that is stunned can force  a body shot.

Remove the body shot chance of any enemy that is stunned or rooted

@brucewayne007 it looks like a few steps were skipped or out of order in the game animation.  almost looks like it’s the beginning of the next turn, with the stun wearing off on the fast Walker.  This is what I noticed about the game, when walker levels are high (instant struggle/ death) the game knows what’s going to happen and skips or shows things out of order.  Trying to figure out if it’s this or something else like T-Dog LT (2nd punish).  Have you contacted support?

@ATLAS-Z that would make Sasha Walker stun wall impossible.  This would bring back @Cateye bruiser stunning level 104 Walker from 12/2015. One bruiser charge attack then spamming regular and punish attacks to keep everything stunned.  Balance is the key and I doubt it’s going back to where bruisers were king of the world.  Remember back in the days when you could earn stars by doing the bruiser overwatch shuffle?

Thanks for your reply mate. It’s very much appreciated.
As you see it was a lot of bad luck for me all in 1 haha. But with tweaking of fast walkers, T-dog have double punish, a lot of variables can happen.
Situations like this will not happen often or at all I believe. Bit of a freak situation really.
I didn’t contact support as I wasn’t confident on an adequate answer. I’d rather confer with a person here.

I’ll accept that these things can happen. Shit happens 🤷🏻‍♂️
Life goes on. Thanks again 🙏🏻
