Change of NW5 rules during the competition

Dear players, attendees, NW organizers and developers of this amazing game, thank you for the great work you’ve been doing.
We are delighted to have gathered to take part in the NW5.
However, after the start of current national wars it turned out that 17 players of 9 teams participate in violation of the rules (Clause 8). It says that a player who was banned during the fourth national wars or later cannot take part in these national wars.
Before the start of the competition, we clarified the understanding of clause 8 of the rules. We received an answer from the organizers that a ban is a ban, a violation is a violation, so we have double checked all our players to ensure there are no violations.
The rules of participation were published on the official game forum more than a month before the NW5, so we believe that there was enough time to gather teams without breaking the rules.
We also offered team leaders who were affected by the ban issue to speak out publicly but they decided to keep it quiet, and vote for changing the rules right during the competition (except the French team, which spoke openly about ban issue in the team and decently decided not to take part in the vote).
The vote was taking place and most of affected teams also decided to vote. Based on current results of the vote, they decided to forgive these teams and replace the scores of those participants who were banned with scores of players who even don’t take part at the NW5 (as a team members).
We believe that changing the rules and criteria for participation during the competition is completely against the fair play policy, it shows disrespect for all participants of the event and puts all participants in the competition in unequal conditions.
Therefore, we withdraw our teams from the NW5, since most of our players do not want to participate in such an unfair competition, so, please, disregard our results. We hope that other teams will support us in this decision.
Thanks to all players and teams playing with respect to fair play rules, it was an honor to participate at the NW5 together with you.

I fully agree, if the rules were laid out in advance, you must follow them and certainly not change during the competition.

Good afternoon! The rules were published long before the start of the competition. I support the policy that you advocate, namely "Play Fair". I am sure that you will take some action and solve this problem. If you don't play by your rules, get Banned. Please take action !! Thanks in advance!

Dear nw5 organisers, if posted above is truth, it’s a pity. I think that if you set rules, you expect participants will follow them. If you change rules during competition, what are your expectations from participants then? What principles do you follow?

@Fluxx, kindly ask you to inform us how the banned players list became available for NW5 organizers. As far as this is non-confidential information, please publish it here.

It is very important to find justice, without Russia, national wars are not interesting.
-
Our listings have been reviewed by the developers. There were no violations in our teams.
-
With all my respect to bone_collector, Russian team (as many other countries teams) completely followed the Fair play policy and the NW5 rules and had no one banned player at the team.
-
-
Sure, I have full listing of violations.
is there anything to support this statement? your opinion is very important to us, but I would like a reasoned opinion. there is an agreed list of team members, you can check them.bone_collector said:Fair Play never was an option for Russian language survivors. -
When Russia had violations, everyone wanted them burning like witches.
Now that several teams ignored the rules, delivered lists with delay and are playing with illegal rosters, all we see is hypocrisy (disguised as "tolerance for the success of the event").

You guys misread @Troublemaker’s message. He is supporting you. He said that Russian guilds were targeted by the community in the past, and he thinks the same standard should apply to other countries now.Proud member of Mavericks OG, a top 3 global GW and challenge guild.

Good day, everyone.People make mistakes and it is a fact that if a player had a ban and was punished for this, I think he has the right for forgiveness and a second chance, but this should have been done in advance and written into the rules before the event. Participating in competitions is always fun and interesting, as well as a great honor to represent a country in such a grandiose international competition, and I would like the rules to be published and negotiated in advance, if an amendment to the rules of participation is needed, then it had to be done before the start of the event and inform all participants.I would not like to face similar problems in the future.

On behalf of the organizers:
For each Nation Wars we try to make sure the experience is as fair and equal as possible. One rule we have is that any player that has received a ban by NG (for whatever reason) during the previous Nation War or after the Nation War will not be allowed to participate in the upcoming Nation War.
Before each NW we ask NG to send a list of banned players. This time NG sent an updated list after the war started. The NW leaders have been discussing a proper action. In the end we decided to replace the players with new players that would not give an advantage to the Nation Team. We hope you can all trust that we do our best to keep Nation Wars a positive and fair experience.
We continue to discuss ideas to make sure things like this don’t happen again in the future. -

Now the solution should be radical.
But a placebo fix for moral and ethics, a "fair" solution to metrics. -
The statement made by Team Russia that rules were changed is untrue.A situation presented itself during NW for which there was no provision in the rules. The nation leaders decided to take a vote on a solution for the situation.Russia took part in this vote.Afterwards, as they didnt agree with the result of the vote they decided to withdraw from NW, ignoring the council voteThey proceeded by publishing a statement filled with falsehoods and in breach of the confidentiality and trust that exists within the nation leaders council.
