Guild Wars is just two guilds seeing who can complete The Distance.

I'm going to take a little trip back in time to the original announcement of GW. It was supposed to be this fantastic new game mode where guilds could compete against one another. I had the assumption that there would be some kind of live PVP guild vs guild thing and I was excited. More excited than I had been for a long time.
GW launches and was terrible. Filled with bugs, crashing servers, random defenders, cash grab, nothing live about it other than the enemy guild happens to be online at the same time.
NG decides to take GW offline and fix things. Okay cool. Maybe it will actually be fun this next time around. NOPE! the same problems as last time only now the servers are more reliable.
NG announces that we will be able to choose our defenders! Finally! some good news. Wait a second. I have to choose 3 teams of defenders with no idea which defending team will be used at any given point? Wait, I don't have to upgrade their armor or weapon because the game scales those things to match the enemy guild? WHAT?! Why do they keep doing these random things like this. They say they are going to add something to make the game better only they didn't they only sort of added it but put some spin on it to make it worthless.
As it is there is nothing competitive about GW other than who can spend the most gold or tools to secure a win. There is no PVP, The maps are basically The Distance. It should be renamed to "Guild Trials"
To fix all of this let us pick maps, walker placements, walker types and defenders. Don't throw some spin on it where we can only choose regular walkers and armored and the special walkers are randomly placed. Don't force us to use 3 different sets of defenders. (I can hear people complaining that everyone will have Carl. Change up some useless hero traits to make them more viable as defenders NG and we won't have this problem) I would love to see actual live PVP but somehow, I don't know how but I don't think NG devs have the skill sets to do this so instead add some kind of replay viewer where we can see a replay of the enemy attack on our defenders. This will add for more incentive to learn how to set up better defenses.
Remove tools and healing time. Just remove them. BuT hOW wIlL nG MAKe mOnEY?! The idea is for players to want to spend money on a fun and interesting game rather than a necessity to spend money to compete. NG has a cash grab mentality and it is toxic. Make a great game and people will naturally want to support it. Don't force people into spending money. Make them "want" to spend money. More and more guilds(mine included) have changed from GW mandatory to optional. Why is this? Because more and more people are getting sick of it and real change needs to happen.
TLDR: More and more people are growing tired of this game. NG tries to introduce a new and exciting gamemode to peak interest but have managed to invent a cash grab targeted at the whales that barely has anything to do with guild vs guild battles. They need to make the game fun and engaging so people actually want to play rather than continuing to think with dollar signs. If you build it they will come.

    Don't talk about tools, people don't want to lose their precious tools :lol:

    When I enjoy the game, I feel the need to support it and pay back for something that has brought me enjoyment. They have designed a game mode where injuries and tool spending is encouraged through map design and people's competitive nature to be the best. They add tools which makes difficult maps not difficult, people complain that it's not a challenge anymore? So they raise the bar, increase the levels, add more high level sectors. I still enjoy the game at it's core but I don't know how much longer that will last and I won't spend money on what is essentially a cash grab with NG  suckering people into spending money.

    An example of a LT that could be changed to make for better defenders would be Negan. He could have X chance for concussion(extra round of stun) that stacks with weapon concussion for max 3 rounds. This would make him a great survivor to use as a defender.
