One shot death against human enemies

Can someone explain to me the mechanics behind heroes being one shotted by defenders in levels with human enemies. I cannot find an easy explanation.

thanks.

    Yes

    did it involve fire?
Usually when the hero/Toon has been shot and the health is basically at zero. The fire then takes you further on the next play and kills them instantly without going into the next set of health.

I believe if its a hit that would take you into the red from full health and you ignite i believe that is the condition the fire bug kicks in.

Yes the fire bug needs 2 conditions

    1. The target is hit with so much damage that health would go into the red
    2. The target is being set on fire with that same shot

In that case health will go to 1 AND the target goes into the red, so any hit or the fire damage will take it out.

The same rule works on all human players, including raiders/freemen. This is a useful strategy to take advantage of in Distance and Challenge maps with freemen.

Also the same bug works with bleeding, that is what causes Spikeys to instakill. So always make sure to not allow a Spikey to hit your guy so he goes into the red as this will insta-kill him.

So the game mechanics are NOT supposed to allow it but it happens and that is why you call it a bug?

Well the game rules say that after your green health bar runs out, you go into the red bar. Except in this case, when you suddenly die without going into red at all. So yes, I'd call it a bug.

    I wouldn’t necessarily say that.
This has been around for a very long time. At 1 stage it was a premium way to kill freeman at higher levels.
Just a hit tip, best not to attack the People with 3 glass cannons.

    Fire bug works both ways....

Also understanding the mechanics lets you counter it

Yeah I think it's one of those things that's tough to classify, I wouldn't class it as something that is glaringly wrong which players are exploiting. It's more that it is something that wasn't intended to be how it is but it has become a game mechanic that adds a strategic element that can work for and against you.

Long story short, use fire on your defensive teams and also try to use one ranged survivor with incendiary to pick the enemies off when you do a human map.
