3500 gold for one battle in the war

I calculated how much I spent for one battle in the war, playing on 20 island one. This is 57 tools. The equivalent of 2850 gold . 1 tool 50 gold. Plus for the treatment of 650 gold. A total of 3,500 gold. So if I want to play every fight at my level, I have to spend 7,000 grand a week. 4 weeks of 7 thousand for a total of 28 000 thousand. We transfer it to real money and get too steep an amount of $ 300-400 for the Beta season. Don't you think it's too expensive? Moreover, this is not a guarantee of victory. Yesterday, the opponent counted our bonus points and started playing in the dead of night, when we were already asleep and finished the fight . They calculated our islands and made a little more - this is not equal conditions , since someone has a night, and someone has a day. Some are initially in the best position. Next up: A theme with 2 zombies on the wave and 6 zombies coming out is terrible especially on difficulty 21 . I have all the evidence for this! This is an outrage! You click to replay the mission and you are thrown into the camp, for an hour we can not enter the guild for the war, and so on . Guys from NG I can continue for a long time, so there are a number of obvious errors and imbalances that need to be paid attention to yesterday. If you want to play, you gotta pay. Just treat that game mode like RP scavenge and stick with lower level islands. GW is not a competitive game mode and never was.

To curse about the amount of tools and gold you have spent in GW is a bit of a laugh.Mate you are the one who uses that tool, nobody forces you too.So you want to chase max points within the format, that’s cool. But expect there to be an expense if that’s what YOU want to do.Nobody is making you play to the extreme every battle.Honestly man this is why I play minimal on challenges. Enough to get by cause the time and energy it takes is pointless. At least with GW you put energy into the team.Seeing Mir I automatically think of Frank Mir. Ha

Mate you need to balance how much energy you put into the the game. Cause 57 Tools across 18 swords isn’t fair to you and your pocket.You need to look at your team to help with some weight. Everyone has the teams -

@mir the idea is to have 1 sector that is SOOOOO difficult that no one on their "right mind" will try it.
And yet, people do.
So the proposed solution, because some have no willpower, is to limit tools for everyone and make the rest of us pay for those few who cannot limit THEMSELVES?

The price of tools is too much. If there are 50 gold tools, there should also be cheaper ones which are either in greater abundance or can be crafted etc. They can have a smaller foot print or shorter duration etc.
Maybe instead of throwing a flare (2 turns) i throw an alarm clock (1 turn)
Maybe instead of throwing a grenade (30% damage) i throw a glass jar of nails (10% damage, plus bonus 20% damage on humans and automatic bleed)

Cheaper tools and craftable tools y'all know I'm on board with that. I've made many lengthy suggestions to the staff in this area.

People are naturally competitive and want to be the best. As soon as they implemented the new map with a dramatic increase in higher level sectors whilst changing nothing to the price, availability and restrictions to tools it was only going one way. Your example is a bit of an exaggeration though, no one is forcing you to play island 20 on your own and you do it knowing that it will be costly. It's like complaining about the price of caviar and champagne, if you can't afford it then you really shouldn't be ordering it.
I agree though, something has to change if the changes to the map is implemented from next season going forward. It ruins competitive play. I earn a modest living and I'm far from being classed as a whale, I've spent money but it's always within my limits. I accept that what I can achieve in the game will be a lot lower than that of someone who pays but the gap is getting larger and larger. -

I checked my tool usage after 2 battles and it was 30 tools/battle. With an assumption on how many free tools I can get, it means my cost was around 1000 gold / battle, not including gold for healing. So less than mir, but I probably only did half of his amount of hard missions.

Methinks you are all playing above your abilities and your wallets are keeping you there. I did some in island 17 and most in island 12 which was the highest difficulty I’ve done before and spent 7 tools in my 18 maps. You want to go crazy and score really high then go for it but don’t complain you had to pay for your win.If you’re after a limit on the amount of tools you can spend in a battle that’s fine but everyone who keeps buy and spending all these tools are the issue. Supply and demand at its simplest people want to win, people will pay for it, NG will keep offering it. More tiers and better matchmaking would make it easier to not feel the need to spend tools, also losing the VP multiplier or reducing it for winning, which would mean playing against teams who score a similar amount to you each time rather than teams who’s have played more against teams who spend less and have an inflated scored because of it.The game mode needs fixing and in the words of the recently departed troublemaker, “this mode can’t be fixed”

Why can't NG just add a "Buy Win" button for each GW or Challenge Map so I don't need to waste time playing?

Understanding almost all the subtleties of the game, I see that there are islands where you just throw money at the opponent and he will answer you:). You all know what I'm talking about. I think you hit the nail on the head with supply and demand, it is pointless feeling frustrated by the amount it costs to be competitive, complaining and trying to get a change if you continue spending and spending. Buying tools, funding this game model. I've seen the direction that the game is heading as it's been so clear for a long while. I really dislike it and when I spoke on the forums it didn't get much traction so I decided to talk with my wallet. The St Paddy's day harpoon/decimator/festive bundle is the only money NG has got from me since November and will be the only they get from me until anything changes. The only reason I got that was cause I'd really wanted the winter harpoon and a 2nd decimator but didn't want to pay the premium prices and it was incredible value, rather than feeding a tool demand -
The GW map we had the last seasons was in my opinion very good. The only sector really demanding tools was 6H. When they announced changes would come, I was hoping for 1-2 level 43-45 sectors to separate the top guilds. Unfortunately they introduced a tool drain.

I should add that I mostly agree with your concerns @mir. Just not how it was put.
NG added harder missions after people complained about ties and some suggested that. There'd have to be winners and losers from these kinds of changes. But if everyone who did 6H has to do island 20 now, adding the harder sectors doesn't solve anything, and then the only winner is NG.
The determining factor shouldn't be about how deep people's pockets are.
57 tools for 18 attacks means slightly more than 3 per mission. I don't think that's crazy much for that difficulty in Sanctuary. Healing time/gold is higher the higher you play too. So maybe 3500 gold isn't that insane, which is really bad. They should increase the rewards and perhaps lower the RP cost and increase the limit for tools in GW.

Tell me briefly the strategy for the difficulty of 19 / 21 that would spend less? When one hit on your bouncer is a fight. And you need to kill 14 zombies of the 49th level, plus spikes meet you with Metalheads. And next to the handle hold a slug and a tank. Of course, it's not expensive if you shift it to one mission, but if you shift it to the whole season, it's a big cost. Plus, a big problem when there is a bug in the game, and this is constantly and you are advised to stay alive. This is my opinion on everything that is happening around the wars now. Personally, I think this is a complete mess, for which someone does not want to be responsible. I'm willing to play and pay for the fun of it, BUT I'm not willing to pay for the mistakes in the game and the unnecessary expenses.Paste said:

I still think the best and easiest solution is to limit the amount of tools you can use. If it wasn't clear before, it's obviously clear now that with the current "unlimited" tools players can beat any level. A lvl 60 metalhead goes down with 3 grenades just like a lvl 40 metalhead does, and a lvl 60 regular walker can be stunned just as well as a lvl 43 walker. So increasing the difficulty will not solve anything. So the only way to limit the pay-to-win aspect is to limit the amount of tools you are allowed to use.
Also worth noting is that we already have a sort-of tool limit already, for economical reasons. Many players, even in top guilds, don't want to spend $$$ so inform the GW coordinator that they want easier missions. I'm sure some feel they let their guild down, and in many guilds the top players might feel forced to pay up so they don't let their guild mates down. This is not good for anyone.

maybe, get rid of these fixed type of tools,
and
give us the option of home - brewable tools, by introducing a new building,or by upgrading the old craftsman one..as suggested by atlasz.
and
have these brewable tools do variable damage/effects with a +, - range.
and
ng can make this method profitable for em too by sales of component-tools
and
also give us em compos in post mission rewards too. -
Dear NGs, @Fluxxx essentially what we want is a cheap fair game mode so we can all compete on skill alone without any pay to win advantages, so that we can primarily only play this new game mode and stop participating in Challenge and Guild wars.
Is that asking too much?

I don't think a tool cap is the answer. Tools are in the game now and they do make the game fun, it's the availability that is the problem. Homemade alternatives is a good suggestion - pipe bombs, herbal potion, hell let me throw an alarm clock at a pack of walkers
. I think a more balanced plan going forward would be to up the amount we can get without spending gold. Dailies could give 2 instead of 1, 400 RP could get you 3 instead of 2, 3 free meds/nades instead of 2 are just a few suggestions.
You still want the incentive there for people to spend and paying should get you an advantage over someone who doesn't. The gap between them doesn't have to be as large as it is though. -

Tool cap or anything that limits or lessens the use of tools equates to a loss in revenue (for the record I like the idea of a cap or a penalty or some score debit when issuing tools) From a pure business perspective you wouldn’t do this. As a player I hate that the new strategy is use the right tool(s) to defeat a map.

If you need that many tool for 8 missions and possibly some of them are KAW you lack the badge, weapons/armor, and most of all the skill to be competing on those levels. This probably sounds harsh but I’m trying to be honest and tell you what you need to hear and not what you want to hear.
