Broken Dog?

So, I’ve seen the target priority be different on several occasions, sometimes it’s the closest special walker, other times it’s just the closest overall but the logic on this one makes me think it must just be random? Why on earth did Dog’s cripple target the middle of the three walkers near Sasha and not the one in front of her? I’m so confused, or is it just random after all?

Well if it truly is random I think we need to get Dog sent to a training school. What’s the point of mans best friend not doing as he’s told and leaving you left to get eaten by walkers. We should have more control over this ‘support’.

so reading the description, dog should have crippled the walker directly in front of Sasha.

I don’t understand why when you select dog it marks so many walkers, can’t it just mark the one it’s going to cripple so you know to use it or not? Or even better let us choose from the highlighted walkers which one we want dog to cripple? Why make us guess?

Makes a lot of sense to just visually indicate the walkers which will be crippled rather than showing all.Like “am I going to go left or right?! Aha! Gotcha! I went middle…”

This is how it should work so I was surprised that it wasn't. It would also fix the issue where it cripples a walker that is already crippled. -

Hopefully once the 4000 bugs are squashed, we can get back to our regularly scheduled begging and pleading.

Crippling an already crippled enemy is not intended, so we'll look into that.
How it chooses the enemy/enemies to cripple does have a logic, but maybe not the easiest to comprehend at times. We'll have a look at how we could make that clearer.
We will also look into the visual aspect of how Dog's ability is shown in combat (targeting) before using and how that could be made a bit clearer as well.

why can't 'crippling an already crippled enemy' causes the enemy to be rooted in place? -

Or let us pick, like Firekid said it can't be that hard to code. Way too many things in this strategy game are down to chance, this is something that should actually be something we can control.
Those who have the whisperer mask unlocked, how are you finding it? I tried it once earlier, dragged it towards the nearest walker and it showed an area field. It then herded the walker at the very back behind two walkers. Super helpful!. Perhaps I did this wrong too, just let me select which walkers I want to herd and that be that. The same should be for overwatch, tap overwatch and then again for which walker you want it to target. How many times does your overwatch target a walker that is no threat and ignore the walker that is actually in range...

In the last stand he chose a target which was already herded by beta. in both cases the former effect was cancelled and i was attacked.
Same goes for the whisperers mask, you sometimes have move like you are drunk to get the right walker herded.
We need supports for sticky situations, but it's not a support when it makes everything worse by selecting the wrong targets. We really should see who gets the effect, like Firekid suggested.

After playing around tonight with dog a in challenges, I now have to ask what we haven't been told about dog? From the screenshot below we'll see that freeman must wear steel socks and dog refuses to damage his teeth. 2 rounds later, my "crippled" target moves 1 space, in the next round the crippled target moves 2 spaces (both normal walkers). Okay so the 1 space move maybe I understand somewhat as a "cripple" can mean limited, but the 2 space move??? So now I have to feel stupid and ask what cripple really means and who all wears steel socks? @Lexia @Fluxxx

Have to admit, I don't understand why you can cripple a freeman with a gun, but dog can't do it. Any time I've seen a police dog training video, those dogs sure seem to take a man down quick.

They both need to be stripped back and simplified. Tap once to activate and then tap the walker(s) you wish. It doesn't need to be any more convoluted than that. -
Mask is ridiculous if you select it then decide not to use it, it’s incredibly difficult to deselect without herding something. Definitely needs improvement.Edit: just used it and it herded a walker which was already herded and it was even herded to the person who used the mask. Well that was useful!

Yeah there's a lot of things in this game that we've suggested to allow selecting an enemy, and @Fluxxx has said they have their reasons for not doing this but I can't recall at the moment what they are.
Negan trait, Dog, Mask and maybe others should just allow you to manually select the enemy of your choice. And if this isn't an option in the code right now it's something they should work on, and not just for these traits but for future traits and abilities

The Negan LT I sort of understand though, it would be really annoying to have to manually mark 3 walkers every single turn. Unless you're playing last stand this would just be once per mission.

No I agree, negan should auto mark, but if you manually mark it would just remove the mark from the auto marked enemy. Power to the player, and choice.
