Is GW too easy with SPY?

Just to be clear, I am not a top end gamer, but decent. I do nightmare distance each week, GW mostly sector 12, but 19 and 20 from time to time.
So I wanted to try out SPY on my alt account, yesterday I cleared all zombies in sector 10, it required some tools and some gold for healing, and I ended up with a decent score. (I am crummie)

It took me a long time to be able to get that score on my main Cromwell, with lots of good gear and good badges, but on Crummie, this is how my heroes look like:
Sasha:

Princess:

Yumiko:

Today I wanted to try out Sector 5 instead (with the same heroes) my team mates cleared 4 maps so had two attacks left after sector 5 was done.

I then helped out on another lower level map and ending up using last attack in what corresponds to 48 KAW

Yesterday I spend some tools and gold, but on todays war i spend 0 tools and 0 gold on healing.
It seems like there is some imbalance in how good SPY is comparred to other setups, and especially how little the badges and pink star matters.
What do you guys think?
Just to be clear I like playing SPY, but just think it might be too good comparred to other setups

Yes, SPY is the by far best team at the moment in both GW and Challenge. Let’s see if any of that changes when people get Mercer upgraded and/or the changes of the new update get into production.Ingame username: Jubjab

It's true. My hero level has been 18 for more than 1 year. I can't complete hard mode Distance until SPY team. And now, my Sasha (6 stars), Princess (5 stars) & Yumiko (4 stars) can complete hard mode at everytime easily, esp. for last 3 missions.
In some extreme case of challenge, SPY can handle +22 walkers. S Rick? Beta? no way.
However, the latest update is appreciated. New Rosita hero trait lets melee team active again. NG, good job! -
I’ve been playing this game since late 2015. I consider myself a very active player, but not hard-core. I’ve always preferred ranged survivors to melee survivors (although I do have a newfound appreciation for some of my stronger melee survivors). I honestly don’t understand the SPY/SMY trend. I never felt Sasha, Yumiko, or Mercer are very useful heroes. Sure, I sort of like each of their traits (Mostly Yumiko’s), but I fo t understand how or why Sasha’s leadership trait makes her so popular.
I am trying to improve my skills, however, and hope someone will explain how these teams warrant so much consideration, especially in regard to Guild Wars. -
Sasha in lead gives charge point chance on body shot.
Princess has charge point chance on zombies with status + from sasha LT. Overall high chance of getting charged.
Yumiko triggers princess' attack and charges her, after which princess can charge attack and stun. -
Well heck...that sounds pretty awesome. Time to start building them up I guess! At least in my case, their traits aren't very well developed, so at least they'll be cheaper to re-roll as needed. Thanks for the insight @ionica

Gosh, I dunno…Maybe the time I spent in Afghanistan and other fun places, while also working on degree completion, deprived me of time that could’ve been better spent learning the subtle nuances of a mobile game…I guess I’m a slacker for not making better use of my time.

These men were part of the most famous spy ring of the era, the Culper Ring, ... however, the very act of communicating a top secret code wasn't so easy.
