badges disappearing

Yesterday during the free badge-removal event I removed all my gold badges from players so i could re-do them all since ive been crafting new ones. Today when i went to work on them I noticed im missing a chunk of the ones I removed. I only noticed cause I took screenshots of all my main guys so I could compare and contrast them, is there a delay on when the old ones will be availabe again in my inventory or did they just disappear?
