Offensive Bruiser Weapon

I’m on my way to building a non-hero offensive bruiser and have gotten to wonder about the ideal weapon for this kind of survivor. I don’t think there’s any combination of traits we might chance upon in a regular weapon which could compensate for the three-space-arc of the staff/stick, so what would the best traits on the staff/stick be for an offensive build? Or even Luke’s Gear Mace?

I can’t imagine being happy to lose Razor or Concussion for the sake of more damage. Could Silver Destructive be an option?

Perhaps this would be too much in a bruiser weapon, but I reckon if Luke’s Gear Mace was updated with Silver Destructive AND the 100% interrupt function of Mercer’s Axe was added to it (even if it means losing the cripple on charge attack) then that would be a really interesting option for offensive bruisers

The Devs have been pretty clever with some cool gear, like the Axe and the Riot shield.

I've been trying to brainstorm a new bruiser weapon myself. 

Something that is as much better than a Morgan Staff as Mercer Axe is better than a Daryl's knife. Like LOTS better. 

Riot Shield is terrific. Something as good but more geared toward offense. Reach, extra attacks, power, special abilities etc.

When I think of an offensive bruiser weapon I immediately think of the Zweihander. I know that it's not perfect as it lacks destructive and can only hit one target but atleast it's long range and can still stun while doing extra damage.

Other than that I would say your current best bet is a morgan's staff or Luke's gear mace paired with weakening as one of your bruiser's traits.

I now think the solution is pretty clear. Give Luke’s Mace the interrupting function of Mercer’s Axe, the herding ability of the Riot Shield and the damage boost of Daryl’s Knife. Silver Destructive, Gold Razor and Gold Concussion. That should do nicely

Or a Morning Star but change the push mechanic in the speciality function to activate 100% Concussion, and keep the bonus attack.

I’ll happily forget about Interrupt and Herding for this weapon. Give it a new skin/name (Aaron’s metal hand?) but it will still basically be an adapted Morning Star

Can't believe we're discussing Offensive bruisers but that's the meta we live in lol.

Interrupting Zwiehander could be the best option if you have Psv/Wkng/Punish/Lucky on bruiser - they will always stay charged.

Initial charge could be obtained by Overwatch Interrupt+Punish and then you have your loop of charged stun attacks + charging back on Punish.

Why not let bruisers ride horses? Attacks could be the horse kicking walkers in the head

how about weapon with hazard suit trait?
I did think about threat reduction, like Kingdom sword with infused trait.  Then, I found mine has already been rusty and ..... forget it.

I asked in the guild shop wish list thread already, but is there any reason why Silver Wide Arc couldn’t appear on an infused bruiser weapon?

Freedom would be a great option for an infused bruiser weapon

Do you know this word... "Theme"?

It's an apocalypse theme, which means gear should also be in this spirit. Things like unlimited ammo is a gameplay cringe flaw, no fault of the theme.

(ps - I would personally LOVE Thor's Hammer mind you, but many would disapprove I think. Besides, how many of us do you think would be "worthy"? 😉)

So I think we’ve whittled down the skins for an offensive bruiser weapon to a) a fire truck, b) a horse, or c) Thor’s hammer

I’d be happy with any of those, but if I had to choose I’d probably go fire truck

I don't know if this amounts to your wish being granted but I certainly hope this lovely goodie offered in Guild Shop has a wide arc like Festive Lucille, Death Jam, Luke's Gear Mace, ect.:

It’s not perfect but I think this weapon might be even better than the new RMac in lots of situations, especially with Brosita. As well as other situations when you can hit and run away in the same move such as Hershel in lead. Probably only Brosita and TDog have any hope of staying charged for every turn but TDog’s been my go-to bruiser for ages now and once Brosita is built up I don’t think I’ll be seeing much of anyone else besides those two anyway  

I think having a new hammer is a nice nod to Tyresse, even if it’s a hammer he can’t use

Any 1 of these could do the job just fine combined with Wkn/Psv/Punish.

Interrupting one was fun to use in Distance combined with infused Primed/Lucky armor 💪
