I understand this but still - what is “very high chance”? 100%?

    Piercing should bring this chance from 100% - 40% = 60%

Also, an analogue can be from actual military tank. Regular weapon can’t penetrate tanks.

But NLAW and Javelin with armor-piercing munitions can.

So conventional understanding should apply here too. Piercing should penetrate bullet proof armors.

Highly unlikely that weapon descriptions are going to be chaned to mention exceptions like "bullet proof walkers are more likely to get body shot", because then they would also have to change every stunning weapon description with a list of walkers that cannot be stunned etc etc...

"Bullet proof" walkers have built-in damage resistance. Melee classes do higher dmg against them, because Razor ignores 30% of these walkers' DR:

    Piercing doesn't have that.

Most likely bullet proof walkers have a built-in Bulletproof trait as well.

It would also match their in-game FAQ description.

    @Lexia mystery solved? :)

@FuriousMoldovan high chance of body shot = 100% minus piercing 40% = 60%. Even at 60% multiples by 130% that should be 72% not 90%

The programming on the math is buggy no matter how you look at it

i don’t mind the reduced damage - not exactly the point anyway. It’s the fact that the hazbul doesn’t push as advertised

Getting bodyshots 90% of the time sounds a little too high.

To have this number, bullet proof walkers should have around 70% of Bulletproof trait, which sounds a little too high as well.

Would be nice to clarify that ↑ (and my post above) @Lexia.

@Lexia I get that we don't need to know every nuance and nitty-gritty detail of game mechanics. But I do agree that some transparency is warranted here?

If you sell a weapon with "Piercing" complete with description of how it works ☝️ then for it to obviously not function that way is either a "Bug" or its "False Advertising".

As stated above, some walkers increase chances of body shots, and high level enemies ALSO increase chances of body shots, BUT... 100% is as high as you can go. (ALL body shots).

So therefor, if piercing is applied, TO ANY WALKER of high level it should be:

     100% - 40% = 60% chance of bodyshot

However, if Walker Level bodyshot chance and Bullet Proof bodyshot are actually separate calculations, like layers, and i suspect Piercing only applies to the Walker Level "layer"... and if so, this is either a Bug or False advertising.

Because it doesn't matter WHY your piercing Trait isn't working as advertised, it only matters that it isn't working as advertised.

@FuriousMoldovan the data and videos are all summarized in the original post = the body shot rate is approximately 90% with piercing on these bullet proof walker.

Clarification is the important 1st step. Even if you want to declare "working as intended", there needs to be clarification on what the intention is @Lexia

Reading what @FuriousMoldovan screen shots, however, perhaps the code applies 30% FLAT increase AFTER piercing is applied.

    So 60% after piercing + 30% = 90%

I am guessing this is just a legacy code and should not have been the intention?

@ATLAS-Z yes, Bulletproof trait affects Piercing directly after ASL calculations as far as I remember.

So if Piercing is 40% and enemy's Bulletproof is 30%, then chance of bodyshots goes up from 60% to 72% after ASL+5.

But as I said above, I agree - 90% bodyshots is way too high. These walkers would need to have Bulletproof at 70% to achieve that, which doesn't sound right.
