Why not skip the farming?

He would actually recommend this game he said if it wasn’t for the farming. And it’s boring. Its not because of the farming we sign up for this game. It takes a eternity. And it’s not fun. Why can’t the creators of this Game come up with something funnier way to level up?

Yes this game is for me the best of the ones out there and i know a lot of oeople agree about that. He’s just getting started but I’d not be surprised if he got stuck in it the more he plays it like the rest of us 😂 Looking for other vids he’s doing and there’s a lot of TWD reactions so I guess he’s a fan to the show to

I only disagree with you for one reason. It is not because I enjoy farming. It is because there are people lots of them that do. It is their only reason for playing this game and once there are no more things to farm they don't know what to do with themselves. So try not to generalize your own experiences to mean the experiences of everyone. There are a lot of types of people. Best wishes and happy Hunting!

I'll add that it's one of the greatest things about this game is that if you like farming games, there's not much to do besides level up. There's not really a point to it except to level up again. But this game once you're done farming there's actually a whole deep basement of game to play with the rewards that you farmed for yourself.

The farming is definitely an issue, if you are a new player. For us that have played the game for years, farming is a no-issue as we already are maxed since long, so the council updates are just fresh additions, and there really is no need to farm at all, unless you don't want to.

But I would definitely suggest that if Deca wants new players to make upgrading faster. Maybe give a free "Building +" token for every level between 5 and 20?

What is good about this game is it has something for everyone. If you like farming, you can do it. If you like pushing yourself and going for your personal best, there is the Challenge. If you want to have your favorite heroes kicking butt, you can buy gear and use them exclusively. Others just like the guild dynamics and teamwork. Everyone is motivated differently. If you can't find that one thing that motivates you, then you stop playing. I know a lot of people who lost that motivation and burned out.

Me? I like killing walkers. I'm at 3.1 million and counting.

@ATLAS-Z If you listening to the guy in the vid I linked - his point is that is already so much farming games out there. So he say so why having it in this game too? People who just wants to farming can find those games everywhere. Why can’t we have a game there we just can
fight the zombies you know. Like @Burmeliinis saying the farmer can be a issue if you’re a new player. And this Guy in the vid is definitivt a new player. I was thinking if he just give this game some time and hold on, I also think he wouldn’t care so much about the farming. One player in our guild saying that he never farming . He don’t have to . He is maxed and he wouldn’t know what to do with everything at this point.

@Governator yes, i know sa lot of players left from all guilds now, I don’t know if it have to do with that the show ended . But we can look forward to spin off series. I’m a hardcore fan of the show TWD so I think I’ll never get tired of this game lol .

by my side.. i don’t like farming. but i am happy because i never needed to farm, indeed i am opposite than @Governator …7 years playing not even 1 Million walkers
i don’t farm because i don’t think it’s needed to upgrade. you may farm and stress yourself if you want but you will be at the same point of me just earlier
each week you can easily earn 5 Millions tomatoes without need to farm

I'm also all in good faith, just having a conversation here. In that spirit, did you know that NML is classified as an RPG (Role-playing game), like Final Fantasy or Dungeons & Dragon?

And leveling and grinding and power creep is just part of an RPG. It's exactly that grind that makes the end result so special.

It's just hard to see nowadays because this games reached maturity long time ago, we're all so strong with nothing to challenge us, that a level don't mean much. Compound that with the even field level mechanics of Guild Wars and a power bump means even less these days.

So, I'm not against the grind, I guess, but it would be better if there was more of a point to it.

You can farm about 5M tomatoes in an hour @ lvl 79 during Tomato event. Or you can pick whatever grows on tomato farms if not in a rush. Or buy tomatoes for cash.

Or wait and play the game like before update. I'm not farming, wait of my farmplots and enjoy the game. For me it makes no difference my survivors are @29 or @30.

With all due respect, there is a world of difference between the farming a maxed player has to do and the farming a new player has to do. For us maxed players we don't really have to farm at all, and as mentioned to go from 29 to 30 only requires a few hours of farming if you do it right.

But the situation is completely different for a new player. Basically it's 100% farming and nothing else. Like this:

How to go from lvl 1 -> 30
- Don't unlock any heroes, don't upgrade any weapons, don't do anything except unlock a team for farming
- Keep farming hundreds of millions of tomatoes to max your buildings
- Note that scavenging with shit heroes and weapons is not a trivial task, so this takes time and effort
- Do this for weeks or months until you have reached the max council level
- Now unlock all heroes and start enjoying the game

Personally I wouldn't mind at all if new players started at lvl 24 or so, so that they could start playing the game like it should be played, right from the start or at least almost right away.

OP is right. The massive grind turned a lot of people away from sticking with NML. We all know people who started playing the game then quit weeks into it.

Yes I’m also thinking the farming can scare away a new player. From the beginning when I started to play this game I never in my life thought I’d liking it as much as I do now.

I think farming is a good thing to do as long as you feel you wants to hurry up a bit coming further in the game. Someone in my guild had a good tips. You can do do challenge and than farming and challenge and farming…like so.

This game is like someone here said a game that is build so you can play it for many years. For me it’s a game for a whole lifetime

One of the best bits of feedback I ever gave NG that they actually took was to reduce the farming needed to grow in some of the later levels. Newer players were more likely to stick with the game. NG bought themselves an extra 2 or 3 years of sustained growth to offset the inevitable shrink of players quitting.

I think deca should do this again and I think it should be planned out so players can more easily reach max level. This will slow the decent of the game into the gutter.

Why not skip the farming?
