Help me improve!

I feel very lucky to be assigned to No Man's Land. The game is fun, I played some Strategic RPGs in the past as well, and I'm enjoying myself. 

Help me improve a little bit though. What modes should I focus on? I heard 'SMY' is the way to go, any other strategies? Why shouldn't I upgrade the Walker Pit in my camp? Any tips to help me improve as fast as possible are welcome. 

Obviously, I have been reading some guides too, you guys have been working hard on that and it's very appreciated. Would like to know if I'm missing something though!

Hey @Jeroen, there's some real experts on here and some good threads to read.
Eventually you have to upgrade everything in your camp to reach top level, where are you at now? 
Your walker pit can be upgraded without upgrading the walkers, I have six level one which is as low as possible, it gives people attacking your outpost less chance to charge all 3 survivors. 
Although SMY is the best team there are many good combos as you will find out so try and upgrade the top survivors in each class. 
Look for threads by @ZXer and @jayz they have wrote volumes about nml and are a great source of information. Good luck and happy hunting 👍

I really appreciate you playing with us, you're one of us!
For new players, Sasha, Yumiko and Mercer/Princess are enough to play the challenge (without thinking about the star hero) and the wars, while the other characters can be unlocked later (to save several million xp).
Always complete "the distance" and "daily missions" don't worry about the outpost until you have other things to think about and also complete the "season missions", to get some special tokens, you will understand how valuable they are.
Save tokens to change the many useless traits of so many characters.
Tomatoes, XP, tomatoes, and more XP and tomatoes, you have to put yourself into this for quite some time… as long as it takes, it will make you understand why we get pissed off when things don't work out. 😂

Distance and Daily + Season Missions, got it. And yes, finally permission to upgrade the pit! I will leave them at low level Walkers. Honestly haven't touched Distance yet. I'm at lv36 at the moment top characters are lv15.

Upgrading your Walker Pit is a complete waste of resources. The idea is you can add more walkers and special walkers to help you defend your Outpost. But, doing that only allows the attacker to charge up their survivors so they can more effectively blast you with charged attacks when they open the gate to grab your TGs. The max level of walkers right now is like level 29. Most, if not all, Outpost raiding teams can mow through those without thinking. The Walker Pit idea is good in theory but worthless in reality. Hope this helps. I look forward to raiding your camp.

Oh, @jeroen, don't overlook the Chapter Missions. You'll want to complete those too. You'll want to see what becomes of Angie's baby.

Connie is a goat now you should go for

I have her at level 4 she is still a goat !!!!!! imagine you get higher than it meanwhile Sasha have to be around level 6-7 to work almost perfect and you need to spend alot of effort too

I'll consider changing guilds soon to improve, but someone was already faster with the invite! I'll postpone installing Line for a bit xD Thanks tho

Sasha & Yumiko traits needed
= Ruthless, Lucky, Marksman, Critical Aim

Mercer & Princess traits needed
= Ruthless, Lucky, Marksman, Sure shot

All Melee troops give Weakening (except maybe Connie, jury is out, but she seems fine without it) 

Tell them to give you a couple Cripple Morningstars for your warriors. Light years better than any other warrior Weapon. 

Get armor upgraded (level doesn't matter) with Ruthless + Primed (+Lucky if you can ask for it) for all (most anyway) troops. You'll also want silver tactical on your warrior armor. It's handy for the other classes too. 

Get Harpoon gun (without piercing) for Sasha
Get Decimator (Without piercing) for assaults
Get Cripple +Burn pistol (no piercing) for Yumiko

Unlock Supports! In order of usefulness
- Cookies
- Mike 
- Cat
- Mask
- Dog
- Sheva
- Hwacha
- CW armor
(don't neglect these!)
