Did you see @Jeroen’s comment in Discord about super weapons and the need for balance?  :D

the Cripple Pulveriser is crazy powerful, maybe bordering on more power than is good for us, I think. A blizzard with fire and cripple might melt my phone

I have some plans for weapon suggestions, but for now I can't share them (and I have to talk to the team first ^^)

I don’t think it would be OP. I’d say it would be comparable to the Harrier. Each having their own strengths.

It’s a weapon that would open up possibilities in last stand and make it more fun. We’d have the option to bring a shooter instead of always bringing a hunter with the harrier.

Hmm… I think so. Cripple/Fire Blizzard seems like it’s better than every other shooter weapon at everything s shooter weapon does. Harrier is great, but I don’t think you can say the same for how it stacks up against other hunter weapons. There’s still lots of other jobs you’d use other hunter weapons for, right?

You raise a good point about Last Stand though, i agree if the comparison is with other weapons/classes for Last Stand then Cripple/Fire Blizzard is what might be needed to get shooters back in contention. I was thinking about it in terms of how much better is it than current options in its class.

Okay, you’ve convinced me! I’m team Jordan for the Crip/Fire Blizzard. I’m predicting highest sales figures since the Ensnare MS :D

It’s true that it’s better than pretty much every other shooter weapon. But it doesn’t matter, they upgraded shooter weapons from single target to an area damaging up to 9. They can release a bunch of other different weapons with that functionality. It’s not something that would stay at the top as long as the morning star 😆 @BenjaminT

Been talking with @Atlas about the evolution of weapons for each class, and how the Morning Star is so good it’s stagnated the development of warrior weapons for a few years. My question about the crip/fire Blizzard is, if they make this, then what comes after?

But on the other hand, maybe it’s time for the peak SPMY weapons now, the last few months (with all the brilliant melee developments) have felt like we’re entering the post-SPMY era of NML

In the case of the Morning Star and warriors I agree that the MS came before it’s time. The weapon was so good that it surpassed every other class in terms of development and then they paused the development of warriors. It’s not that they couldn’t come up with better weapons, it’s just that it wasn’t the time to make them. On the other hand, I feel like a fire / cripple blizzard is where shooters are at and it’s what they need to catch up to other classes. They just upgraded from single target weapons to those circular-area attacks. There’s still a lot they can do with future shooter weapons. They can have different charge attacks, root, fire, stunning, etc.. They can make even better special functionalities, just adding high-powered in the SF would give more possibilities to re-trait weapons.

I hope he elaborates on the "need for balance part"

If people are paying $15-$20 for a weapon they would expect it to perform as advertised. Imo if they want to make money they will sell op weapons that the community wants to spend $15-$20 for because the ones that have been released since DECA took over are well.... Not worth spending real world currency on. $15 is a huge sum of money for a weapon in comparison to other games I have played or currently play and if they start nerfing gear that people have already paid for that wouldn't be good. I already noticed subtle changes to weapon functionality walker placement, walker movement etc.

Yea, most people will buy weapons in the bundle shop when they know it’s a weapon they’ll use often. Weapons that are mostly just for fun, have very niche use or that are just slightly better than the originals should be in the black market. That would actually be beneficial for them because we’d spend more gold and in turn possibly spend more money on season passes or bundles. Just take the lethal, razor, destructive Morning Star for exemple. Not many people would buy it with real money but how many of us bought it for 1000 gold? Just to get the little extra damage to be optimal.

I haven't purchased a Survival Pass yet, but this would be an instant buy from me. I even saw someone recommend the name "Firestorm" for it.

    Shooters need something fun.

To be fair to @jeroen I’m paraphrasing him when I say ‘a need for balance’, Jeroen asked if there’s a difference between wanting super max-powerful weapons and a gradual evolution in weapons creating new strategy possibilities

Lot of bugs and strange walker movements. Z's are evolving and doing strange things. Moving away from threat/alerted, wandering into tree lines and inaccessible empty train cars, spawning 3 deep in your face at the beginning of a map 1 tile away.

I should start recording these things but i don't care enough to be bothered.

Find me a gradual Evolution that is better than the Savior handgun then. Enough to Warrant spending money on it

I would, but I think DECA have already beaten me to it with the last few retraits of the Pulveriser and Blizzard. We’ve had High Powered versions, Crippling versions, etc.

Part of the gradual evolution is the redistribution of needs in the team line up. It’s no longer the case that Yumiko’s weapon needs to have fire as there are now hunter weapons which provide this. The natural evolution applies to the game as a whole, not to each class in isolation

You’re right, the natural evolution applies to the game as a whole, not only to a specific hero like Yumiko or a specific team line up like SMY. A Fire / Cripple Blizzard would benefit shooters as a whole, when a shooter becomes ⭐️ hero and in last stand. Every class needs diversity in weapon options for strategies to evolve. @BenjaminT

Yeah, totally agree with this. It must be difficult to come up with ideas which address balance without making the much stronger heroes super powerful.

Although, on the other hand, I’m not sure balancing heroes within their own class either is, or even ‘should be’, the goal? I liked your point earlier about a fire cripple blizzard (or even a pulveriser) would make shooters viable in Last Stand.

I’m officially withdrawing my apprehension about this weapon and am waiting with one hand on my wallet  :D

This isn’t has crazy has it sounded 1 year ago when the Crimson Harpoon Gun came out. Those who missed the Harrier would buy it and those who have the Harrier can buy something a bit better. Something new for everyone.

How about a Riot Shield with silver First Strike, gold Interrupt and Concussion?

Or Lucerne’s Hammer with silver Lucky, gold Interrupt and Ensnare. Not sure it’d be much use in challenge but it would’ve been great in Last Stand this week on T-Dog with Ezekiel in lead  :)

Please could we have a Tenderiser with gold First Strike and Razor? I’m not sure if I’d prefer silver Lucky or Lethal. The template for this weapon is great for Daryl and Prowling but two of the three traits are more geared towards charge attacks.

Although with one or two critical chance badges on Huntsman Daryl could make silver Destructive a good contender.

Or maybe even silver First Strike, gold Lucky, gold Razor?
