Action Taken Towards Players Using Modified v3.0 Client

2 weeks is not enough. I’ve spent real money and untold hours trying to advance and become a top level player and these hacks insert some code or some shit into a mod and outscore the top players in the world by 1000 stars. 2 weeks is a slap on the wrist to them and a slap in the face to the rest of us.

I think this kind of action is better than none. Not trying to justify mod apps cheaters, that's straight up bad. Just think how many times we make mistakes as a human being, that deserve a second chance that can work. There's a big chance they'll stop, if they won't there's perma ban round the corner.

Ask yourself a question honestly, every one of us:
Have you not made a mistake in your life that wouldn't deserve a second chance? Where it's seen from society's point of view as very bad and punishable without a come back point? Have we all become judges that are ready to sentence anyone right away with out looking at ourselves first?

Maybe I'm getting to deep here. Don't get me wrong, cheating is bad and it deserves a punishment. It has been layed upon them though.

A 2-week ban is a slap on the wrist for using mods. It is such a non-punishment that it sends a weak message and actually encourages future attempts at cheating.

The ban for using mods should be permanent.

Also, were the cheater accounts modified in any way? Extra gold, gear, badges, tokens? How long were they cheating for before you caught them? This is more reason to permanently ban the cheating accounts and not let them back into the game.

No respectful guild condones cheaters, yet, we will not know who these hackers are when they return in 2 weeks—and because players can change their profile names, they can hide who they are. If we don’t know who the cheaters are, how can we reject them from joining our guilds?

With this worthless punishment, NG sent a message that it doesn’t prioritize maintaining the integrity of its game. If your brain trust does not have experience in dealing with hacks, then perhaps bring in outside consultants who do. There is no better way to lose your customer base than to not properly address the integrity of your game.

And that is my biggest issue with this punishment. A two week ban is nothing... without getting into the details of how this hack is supposed to work, there's no question that the people who used it reaped serious in game benefits and rewards. If they get to keep and use all of the things they earned while cheating, then that's bullshit, and it doesn't send a very strong message about cheating at all.

There have been past instances of cheating that were punished with permanent bans. I wonder what's different here?

Whoa! @General_Pain for the love of Rufus, there’s been NO names thrown out there. The hackers( and NG) are the only ones that know the guilty.

@General_Pain I would highly encourage to change your comment as we have all screen shot and video evidence to prove our scores. I would also suggest you never imply that our guild is cheating in anyway. I also encourage the developer team to take action against you for having such disregard as a member of their team. Perhaps you should focus more on putting your foot in your mouth less. We are prepared to provide proof at any moment that we in no way cheated Guild Wars whatsoever, and your accusation is a weak attempt to slight us for not allowing you access to our guild once we achieved Master Rank. Here lies the perfect example of why no one in the community respects you, so have a nice day @general of nothing.
