Apparently we will not see Beth in the game ... at least Carol is an archer or Magna and Yumiko hope to appear

What I find most regrettable about this update is that no effort was made to revalue the regular survivors but in stead NG has gone further down the hero path they've been on for a while.
Fact is that for a while now regular survivors - with the notable exception of the punish/retaliate bruiser at least for as long as there isn't a second P/R hero bruiser released - have very little to no use, except as walker meat in the distance,
I have said in the past that to remain viable regular survivors need a boost - i suggested giving them a sixth trait - because right now even your 9 or 10 star survivor that you worked years to build up to that level will take a back seat to the new super heroes at legendary, in some cases even at epic.
Another thing they could have done is limit weekly bonuses to non hero survivors - e.g. non-hero bruisers start charged - but in stead they've gone for a hero week, making them even stronger.
As it is now regular survivors only work as a token dilutor. So revalue them or scrap them from the game all together.
the same can almost be said for ranged -survivors and heroes alike -.
Unfortunately I very much doubt NG is ever going to do anything about it, much like the story missions. -
I like some things of this update and I'm skeptical about others, disappointed that NG didn't balanced the flat badges instead we will have to start again to find better ones but that's how this game have worked in almost every aspect so nothing new, looking forward for next GW season, still think with the current rps we won't had the chance of buy many items in the shop, please do a balance with the rps giving for missions
I really hope that the traits of H. Maggie are
Keeping the Peace
Marksman
Lucky
Revenge
Ruthless -

So stupid compare, if i have older iphone i wont be looser then my friend with new iphone, but who have better badges will dominate, i spend 2 weeks ago gold components to craft top badge, and now i can tell that i spend them not right as i should! Explaine me what will give extra dmg, from badge? More stars? The mobs the GW and Distance have same difficult so it will be easyer to comple hard distance, it would be enought with 26lvl and 29lvl of equipment wich will give good damage and health to brusers and shooters... -

@Huricane444 but people aren’t going to instantly have better badges than you? Unless they have a stockpile of frags and components and some luck. We are all starting the update with the same badges as before it and the same chances of crafting better ones. It’s one of the most balanced update with regard to that side of things than usual. Considering how many times end gamers have been penalised with an instant challenge level increase after update.

If you like a particular hero, but missed their 2-week appearance as a "Star Hero," no problem. Just wait another year from them to rotate around again.
With the new Maggie, we'll have 28 Heroes in the game. That's a 56-week rotation. -
Rather than having "better badges" from a Scavenger update, how about Lvl 2 Craftsman creates badges that can be placed in any position, but are limited to a Set (A,B,C, etc). Then, at some later date, a Lvl 3 Craftsman creates badges that can be placed in any position AND in any set?
That way, we don't end up feeling dissatisfied with our existing badges, and we also feel that the upgrade to Lvl 2 actually serves some benefit.
(I'll duplicate this in Suggestions in case it gets lost in all the upgrade feedback) -
How likely is there to be a schedule of upcoming "Star Heroes"?
You know, sooooooo people can swap badges onto benchwarmers during free badge swap events?

Badge have limits what you will do when you will be full of top gold throw away best ones which yoh craft for gold? Nice wayyy! -
If I understand you correctly, you're suggesting that top players only have legendary (gold) badges in their inventory?Huricane444 said:

Let's assume that a player has 40 character slots available. Maximum badge inventory is calculated as such:([character slots x6] +100). So that player has a maximum badge inventory of 340 badges. And you want people to believe that a large portion of the player base have a completely full inventory of 340 legendary badges that they might have to scrap some to make room for these better badges? Mmhmm.
Next, analyzing my example, the calculation has a built in buffer of 100 inventory slots that, literally, can't be used. So you are guaranteed to have a surplus. Add on top of that, that it's unlikely that a player will have every hero/survivor fully badged up and there are more "sub-optimal" badges that should/could be selected for the scrap line. Hell, I have a maximum inventory of 514 badges and I don't have all my heroes/survivors badged.
C'mon, man, let's dial back the hyperbole just a little and re-enter the virtual world. I'm sure it's possible there are some players out there with *only* legendary badges, but they will be the exception, not the rule. And even if they do have only legendary badges, they aren't using them all. They can't! Therefore, there will be options to scrap to make room for these shiny, new, better badges. Take a minute to pause and breathe a few times, it'll be ok. Trust me. The sky isn't falling. Yet.

NML updates are now completely defined by NG adding new things to chase (i.e. buy) while at the same time devaluing existing player investments. Let's go over the two checklists for this update:
New things to chase:
Star Heroes. Who wants to bet NG will be selling bundles with Star Hero tokens each week they are featured?
Reinforcement tokens. Certain to be sold, probably sooner rather than later.
New badges. The NG bundle guy should be yelling "Components, components, get your components here!" The nerfing of component drops was part of a long-term plan.
Brand New Heroes:. Radio bundles anyone?
New weapons. It's going to take a while for players to go through their GW gas stockpiles, but NG needs a reason for you to spend for it.
And the proverbial tomato chase begins anew. NG should give a prize to the first fully updated player with full tomato supplies again the next update. Perhaps a forum badge:. Tomato Addict? Bloody Mary Guzzler?
On the list of existing player investments now devalued:
Regular survivors and their tokens. Regular survivors are now so devalued, they should just fall off this list. NG has done a good job devaluing anything you can get for free with trade goods, including regular survivor tokens.
Old badges. The best players have the best badges, so if you want to be the best, get those badge scrapping fingers ready. Oh, and increase your credit card limits at the same time please.
Hunter Daryl. Maybe the new heroes will have glitches too for which players can take advantage for a while.
Old equipment and winter tokens. The winter campaign ends right before an update? Let's devalue that free equipment,. Check!
Do we all remember the good old days when NML update release notes actually mentioned multiple, significant bug fixes? When was the last time the user interface was improved with a badly needed overhaul? How hard can it be to add a scrap button immediately after badge creation? Or heaven forbid, provide a player a reasonable way to look at their badge inventory.
IMHO, a sure sign that a gaming company is desperate and in trouble is when the company gets increasingly transparent with their short-term money grab techniques. And game stability starts to suffer. Examples here are the months of issues with guild wars, and the major recent fiascos with round passes. The race for player dollars is prioritized, internal testing is increasingly ignored, and players themselves become the first real line of testers.
You can plainly see the signs of the money grab desparation here recently with this game. -
Yes, NG do you want you to spend money on their products, just like all businesses do.
You can still play this game without spending money - I’m FTP myself. It means I can never compete with the best players, but that’s ok with me. I have only 9 legendary badges across all my survivors, and only one pink star across all my heroes - so a totally different situation to the people who spend big cash on the game, but they deserve better stuff than me because their money allows NG to provide this game which I enjoy for free.
Yes, the GW and RP issues recently have been frustrating, but I can’t see how anyone can complain about new stuff coming which will be better than the stuff we have now. That has always been the case, it encourages us to keep playing and chasing the best stuff (and yes, spending) and it prevents the game from being stale.
Happy hunting everybody -
Rather than allowing for better badges, the update should be improving the whole badge system - utterly complicated and barely manageable.
And now guild war is really center stage, not just a different game mode. Special heroes and gears to be obtained only through GW, much unfair towards those who don't want/cannot play this mode.
Anyway, everything will crash down with so much updates, so no worries, we'll have again 2 weeks of compensation gifts!! 😝🎁 -
This.Librenfer said:Rather than allowing for better badges, the update should be improving the whole badge system - utterly complicated and barely manageable.
If @Vane, @Shteevie and the decision makers at NG came to me and said "Dodders, we have an issue that we're split down the middle on and we think you're the most level headed member of the forum so we're giving you the grand opportunity to cast the deciding vote.
Would you like bigger, better, shiny badges or fix the badge UI?"
In a New York second I'd say fix the utterly contemptible badge UI system. I honestly despise the badge UI system more than anything else in the game, because utilizing it the way it is takes so long to deal with that I usually put the game down for an hour after I mess with badges. Getting kicked out of GWs and such? Frustrating for sure, but it makes me want to get back into killing shit that much sooner. Not put the game down.
But I might be in the minority for that sentiment.
This, on the other hand, I'm not so much in agreement with. Aaron was accessible only through the Distance initially. HDaryl and chainsaw weapon only accessible through the first GW season. New RPG accessible only through second GW season. I'm sure I'm forgetting something else along the way as well.Librenfer said:And now guild war is really center stage, not just a different game mode. NG has a precedent at locking new things behind new modes. That shouldn't surprise anyone. Frustrating? Sure. But eventually those who can't achieve new heroes/gear through mode play will be able to by other means. Just might have to be willing to shell out real world currency to have the new toys."I always say, if you must mount the gallows, give a jest to the crowd, a coin to the hangman, and make the drop with a smile on your lips." -Birgitte Silverbow, The Fires of Heaven, The Wheel of Time

Star Heroes: Cool idea. Can develop new strategies with lesser-used heroes. Or if it's just not a good star hero period then just don't use that hero. Don't see a reason to complain about this.
Council Upgrade: Disappointed but it's inevitable. We've had the blatant cash grab of needing to upgrade a minor building before being able to upgrade the council for the past few updates, but TWO buildings this time? Dear lord. Was thinking about spending some cash to grind out to get all the way to training grounds so I could claim the spear at 26, but no thanks. Missed out on that one.
Craftsman: Very disappointed in this. Badges may possibly be the only aspect of the game that didn't need a buff. Yes, of course all my legendary badges didn't suddenly become obsolete, but they sure did become inferior. Was still grinding to get matching legendary badges on my main squad but now I need all new sets to remain competitive. At least I have like 26 legendary frags stockpiled, so that will help. Probably won't spend money on badge bundles anymore if NG will just keep moving the goalposts. More on this below.
Reinforcement Token: Great idea. Bout time something like this entered the game.
Hilltop Maggie: Seems cool. More dilution but it's another inevitability at this point. I agree with @mimica about the ideal traits for her.
New Weapons: Seem interesting. We'll see how they work. Probably won't reach the GW tier to unlock them anyway so oh well.
Challenge Sets Rework: Hell yes. Been missing some of these.
Weekly Top 100 Challenge: HELL yes. Been asking for this for years!
Dynamic Round Passes: Been asking for something like this for quite some time as well. I hope this lets me not start at RSL 26. Would be a dream come true.
Prowl's Bag: Thanks dipshit who pointed this out. Oh well. $10 says it's probably not 100% fixed anyway lol
Guild Wars Changes: Looking good
So overall this looks decent. Some good changes, some transparent cash grabs, and some big disappointments. My biggest gripe is that while I appreciate NG trying to reduce the challenge grind, not only are they giving us a council upgrade but they're also increasing badge values. Just one of those things would already greatly increase the grind, but both? SOS. We're already 3 starring our way to 40 most of the time. I can't imagine what the max will be once everyone has newer badges and max level gear and survivors. RSL 50 most likely.Leader of WATCH TOWER RoD -

Everything that is being talked about that all the users are going to improve, I can easily deny it. I'm not a new player and neither old, I'm a bit short of reaching the last level. With the update of the round, I see people with less time, less weapons and less round almost equal or equal my scores even if I have not lost a star. Lower level, they reach me. higher level, unreachable. times of improvement, astronomically high. Buy supplies, a good improvement and one of mediocre buildings. Buy xp in the case that they put it in the store, does not give to improve even a weapon. Prizes per game, nothing, as an example the jackpot event, which begins to give you golden boxes when you go in levels higher than yours, making me have an arsenal that I can not use. How do you want or think that I spend my money in the game if for more than buying something has no real use? How do you want me to stay in the game if I do not see my level progress compared to other players? Should not it be that if I surpass someone is by skill? The least I ask (and many of my community ask) is that it is a game. I'm better at playing: I beat you. I'm worse: you surpass me. We are equal: we draw, and if we draw, then they have their profit with the purchases we make of weapons and improvements to compete higher. Diversify the different tactics so that there are options. So at least my mind

Great post. I have the same hopes regarding Dynamic Round Passes. I'd actually be OK with starting at RSL 26 if we could go to only one mapset per RSL... fingers crossed!crambert_nec said:Dynamic Round Passes: Been asking for something like this for quite some time as well. Everytime there is a change to the game people are complaining about everything.
Saw people commenting that the star hero is all about selling phone and token bundles. We already have them every day.
People also complained about new Maggie being accessible only to GW. We already had Rick and Daryl through GW.
One of the main things that annoys me is the whole f2p/p2w arguement and if you actually need to pay in order to go high in the challenge/distance. Nobody is forcing you to buy anything or complete everything. It's much easier to progress through evolving and playing better. I used to go maybe +8 RSL to the challenge. Now I go till +14/15 as a f2p player. If I payed real money I would go higher, but I'm happy without doing that. If you exclude the top 0.01% of the players who NEED real money in order to compete and they have a reason to be upset about that, the rest of the player base will see better results if they learn the game better, not if they buy bundles.
I'll probably get some hate about that, but my point is there is no need to pay real money when you have the ability to get better just by playing the game. -
@sicron totally agree...i am a F2P as well and this is where i got this week....if everyone plays carefully they can do this too

How much gas did you use? Did you play 24 hours? My level of hero 22 goes up to round 31 or 32, and I no longer arrive for gas recharge time ...
It seems that he bought gas, I very much doubt to reach that amount without doing it. Excuse me, but that which says that you do not buy does not sound true. I do not have problems in that, but only in buying for nothing -
We've gotten so many compensation boosters that they probably had a huge stockpile built up for this challenge. I know I did.Hellnight said:> @donald6283 said:

@Hellnight If you have 12-13 round passes, you have enough gas for that level. If you don't have to replay a lot of missions of course. 30gas from TG, 8 gas also every time it pops up and cinema ads. If you don't have many round passes or you missed a week, that's an another issue. In that case, yes, you need to get a booster if you want to reach higher levels.
-
no need to play 24 hours...the 30 gas in the trade shop are more than enough...the only thing that slows you down at 36+ is hospital time...so the answer is no...i didnt buy a gas booster.. @Vane can easily confirm that
-
What about adding more tents, more farm plots, more storage, another healing spot in hospital?
-
Just more Hospital healing slot is all we need.
More buildings like farm and xp tents are useless as long as we have the maximum caps. -
I'd like to say that a lot of people in here are being overly negative about many of the improvements being delivered in this update.
However, the timing of having to claim event weapons at a level that will be redundant without a reinforcement a week later is a straight up 'dick move' without providing at least 2 reinforcement tokens (1 for GW weapons, 1 for Spring weapons) as a minimum. Probably should be more like 3 or 4 when you consider the Zweihander, Spear, Pickle Jar, Torch etc.
The badge crafting upgrade also might annoy some people who have been crafting this weekend and don't read the forums.
