    I was wondering too. I was a little scared it was a hacking attempt, so tried it on a different computer. Same thing.

    I think what happened is that they changed the 'minimum' password requirements and those who did not meet them have to change their password.

    I work in IT, and it surprises me how many people get visibly angry when they have to change a password even as infrequently as two years.

    @flyingcowking then being in IT you should know when something randomly asks you to change PW that it could be hacked and attempting to gather information. I was prompted and I changed to a password I have never used for that reason

    I’m DoD Civilian and Military that’s one the big red flags is randomly PW changes because typically places that require Changes every X days give warning.

    So imo it’s a legit question and one people should be careful with.

    @Drunken agreed. but i wasn't talking about that specifically. I was just talking about how surprising it is when people get angry with us. No one at my office who has ever been rude and angry was concerned about DDOS, or hacking attempts. Just angry old men. :P

    One of my problems was that the darn email to reset the password never arrived.

    It's not a problem to change a password - maybe a slight inconvenience.

    But if you just can't, well... that's more than just inconvenient.

    I tried 4 or 5 times, then tried to log in with Facebook which worked. I never log in to any site using Facebook - if I am not forced to. So not sure why they were even linked but hey!

    It’s a legit question/concern I don’t like being prompted to randomly change passwords because I’ve been hacked, especially from unsecured sites such as this. I also pay cash for gas cause my CC has been stolen paying at pumps 3x.

    Security is a real issue so a random change PW request from a game site should draw the question was it an error on their end or a breach of their website

    I haven’t seen an answer regarding that tho

    Change the password to where if there was a breach a program now has a password of yours!

    Ok I got a response from the host. They were informed of some vulnerability in their systems so out of caution they reset all passwords on all their forums right after they pushed out a fix for it.
    They're investigating it still, but so far no evidence of the vulnerability being exploited.

    @DonCoqui all good and my point and concern was addressed, there was a breach, I did change password but I also used one I’ve never used before so it’s not linked to anything of mine

    @DonCoqui when you say just change the fucking password and move on, you clearly dont support the question at all. There was another thread completely ignored by admin because they were just too darn nice. Support from ng punted, saying they know nothing and would do nothing. Put your ssn and dob on here if your personal data means so little to you or stfu.
