How do Guild War Points actually work?

The principle is simple: Higher difficulty missions earn more points for you and the Guild. Then there's the stage completion bonus that kicks in. But there seem to be some 'bumps' that activate and...I can't quite figure them out!
You can end on, say, 302 points as an individual tally, someone can spend their last few gas, maybe finish a stage...and all of a sudden, you've earned a 30 point 'bump' and...I don't know why!
It feels like you get a portion of points for having contributed to a stage or full 'islands' that ultimately gets completed, but I'm sure a bump has applied even after the Guild has already spent every drop of gas. Does anyone know the exact mechanism for these 'bumps', and how to earn them most efficiently?

Each sector has a completion bonus (say 13a  and 13b) that get distributed to all members who participated in war for that day.  Finishing the island (13c) gives a larger bonus to all guild mates in the war.  The most efficient way to procure the most Victory points is not only completing sectors, but the whole island.

The scoring sometimes has a considerable lag, so if you get another 30 points suddenly it's almost certainly points from your previous mission that simply didn't update before.

Sounds like a lot of the confusion my end is simply down to the sometimes slow updating of the point tallies. Well...that helps explain it, someone from my guild was trying to get a definitive explaination for the mystery point-bumps you see.

Closing and restarting the game will get you the most recent scores. That's what I do after my final attacks to confirm my final score, or when planning during a close battle.

    Thanks for the tip.
