Bruiser weapon levels

I’ve read in a few posts on the forum players discussing the advantages of not reinforcing bruiser weapons and I’d just like to clarify this point.

Is a lvl 20 bruiser weapon any less likely to stun than a lvl 27 bruiser weapon on the same bruiser? Obviously the damage is a lot lower, so if it’s just a bruiser bashing the walker into oblivion it’s going to take a lot more hits with a lvl 20 weapon. But if a lvl 25 bruiser with those two weapons goes into a mission does the weapon level change the likelihood of stunning? 

I understand traits impact stunning a great deal, so to keep this simpler let’s say the two weapons are the same skin with the same traits carried by the same bruiser, but one is lvl 20 while the other is lvl 27?

    Would one of them result in a higher percentage of stuns/lower percentage of body shots?

    Gear level doesn't affect traits activating at all. Only damage /health accordingly

    Thanks Atlas. Can I just make sure I’ve understood this then???

    So this means… (for arguments sake) a level 5 winter hockey stick on a level 28 bruiser will be just as likely to stun a level 35 walker, as a level 32 winter hockey stick on the same level 28 bruiser?

    That’s excellent news!! I guess this makes bruiser weapons the lowest priority for reinforcement tokens, maybe? Perhaps not for an all bruiser team though.

    Thank you for getting back to me, I bought a winter hockey stick from the BM when at lvl 22 and now I know it’ll continue being useful without using up all my reinforcement tokens. Cheers, Atlas!

    Rule of thumb:

    1. Weapons are the lowest priority for upgrade for bruisers and defensive assaults.

    2. Armors are the lowest priority for upgrade for all offensive classes.

    Meaning lvl of gear above is not that important, gear traits are.

    Best treats for bruiser weapon?is razor important?

    Razor + Concussion are must haves on any bruiser weapons because they stun only on non-bodyshots and concussion gives a chance for 2-turn stun.

    PS: you can post pictures but have to type at least 3 characters along with it, i.e. "..."
