    Same here - all modes fine except Distance, which is a lag fest :/

    I created this account specifically to add my view into this topic as I, too, am having exactly the same issue.
    Lag in 'The Distance' section of the game.
    The Lag continues throughout the battle and includes lag when displaying the scores at the end of each round.
    After 'Continue' is pressed, the lag is gone.
    I estimate the lag reduces the game play to about 2 or 3 FPS. Almost unplayable.

    Phone is Motorola Moto G4 - (Cache cleared - Phone restarted - Didn't affect the issue.)

    @ATLAS-Z if they tested across a range of devices then they could probably find the issue, or actually employed beta testers to spot these things before releasing the update. Oh wait, they have a whole player base on beta test 🤣

    I'll wager, if I was a betting man, that they have deadlines to meet, esp with big brother Netflix now on board. And maybe waiting for extensive beta test, finding bugs, fixing bugs, more testing etc to see if the fixes created more bugs... Maybe it s impossible to meet deadline and do all that?

    I could be way off, it's pure speculation.

    Lag on Distance, and when trying to file a support ticket, clicking 'help' just pushes button down so it seems to respond but nothing happens.
    5.5 update didn't fix lagging. 
    I also used the free gas plus 2xp yesterday evening. Did some 10 missions and quit trying. Today updated the game and still the same lag. Unbelievable.

    I can answer that as well. If you lack beta testing then you must do emergency repairs asap coz community gets angry otherway. If you do anything asap you probably overlook few things that will eventualy add up and grow into new problem.

    Sacrifice one develepment cycle to sort things for future revenue is way to go.

    Did all the usual crap they say to do, but still no change..
    Luckily I persevered and completed the Distance. It only took 8hrs..
    I am wondering if this lag issue also has something to do with some people losing their accounts and can't get them back..
    I would rather have the lag than lose my account..

    Frame drops, glitches, lag, it's pretty much unplayable. Had it in the distance yesterday as well. Hopefully the next update to fix the update to fix the other update makes it better 😑

    As shared in previous conversations, the team has and is already looking into some performance related issues, so let's see what we will be able to get together and published later.

    Out of curiosity, has anyone checked if there is a difference in performance if you change from the game settings some of the visual aspects? eg. Changing Frame Rate from 60 to 30? Or possibly turning off Blood & Gore and/or Tactical Grid? Any change in the performance trying out these setting changes?

    I think the issue is a graphical rendering one and has to do with the red fog/smoke that appears in later missions in The Distance, or wherever else this effect occurs. This effect does not load in BlueStacks and you get no lag but instead, you see black blocks everywhere and you can't see where to go. I realized this when I switched to my phone; I saw the red smoke/fog but now the game ran very slowly. I think if you turn off this effect or offer a toggle option in the settings to turn it on/off, it would alleviate the situation for players with lag issues.
    Also, in The Distance, Hard mode, this lag/black block artefact only appears later, at like level 15 or 16.

    Just in case mentioning here as well that 5.5.1 optional update has been released that should hopefully sort out the ongoing performance issues (incl. lagging). Please update when you can, and feel free to share anything you might notice after that :smile:

    I just updated 5.5.1 earlier,  it DID fix The Distance lagging. I use Android Galaxy tablet. THANK GOODNESS!
