Macuahuitl vs Morning Star

I'm curious but what do you folks think is the better weapon? The special functionality for the Macuahuitl is just jaw-dropping exhilarating! I can't wait until I have enough tokens to unlock it.

Also, for those that own the Hazard Bulldozer Shotgun, how is it? Would you recommend it?

One is a bruiser weapon and the other is a warrior weapon, so you’re comparing apples to oranges. However, the Macua is not even the best bruiser weapon available upon its release while the MS can make a reasonable argument as best weapon ever.

Ignoring the confusion, I think it's not really possible to predict whether this weapon will be hit or miss. I think as it stands it's a bit of a meh type reaction but it might shine when we have FiRo unlocked since it looks to be designed with her in mind.

I really like the new Predator blood-stained Bulldozer Shotgun. It's a lot of fun.

I used the toxic shotgun during the last challenge and I think it was worth the season pass once you factor in all the other rewards.

MS is definitely the best warrior weapon.

The new RMac could very well become the second best bruiser weapon after Riot Shield, especially in the hands of BRosita. It definitely makes Gear Mace obsolete.

But is second best bruiser weapon a bit like second best warrior weapon?

Macuahuitl normal attacks Cripple. Clever players will find ways to take advantage of this. Weapon has built-in tactical as well. It's not as bad as I first thought, however the riot shield is so good that in most cases it will still be the Top Choice.

Macuahuitl is Luke's Gear Mace with
+55% Interruptor (it happens or it doesnt happen)
-10% take less damage (helps to get 80% DR)

Interrupt is almost guaranteed actually. Normal attacks Cripple.

    No 10% DR.

    1. It has tactical movement but not DR.
    2. Regular attacks either stun or cripple special walkers (flat 75% cripple chance, not affected by Lucky).
    3. Charge attacks either stun or 100% cripple special walkers.

You have that 75% chance to cripple normal enemies as well just to clarify…

Is it definitely fixed at 75% with no help from lucky? It was my understanding that any time it said the word chance in the description it basically meant it was boosted by lucky.

Didn’t Lexia recently differentiate between traits and functions? Not sure it was worded exactly like that but I think the gist of it was that only traits are affected by Lucky, but not features/functions. Not sure about features within traits though (Hershel’s chance to weaken)?

I’ve played around with the new bruiser weapon a bit with enough Lucky to guarantee cripple on body shots and it hasn’t been 100%

Except when it is a "Special functionality". Then it is not impacted by lucky. Flaming Crossbow Pistol has Special functionality of 45% chance to ignite targets. Lucky has no affect on that. If it was an infused trait then it would be affected by lucky.

Whatever the calcs, I ran a mission difficulty up over 70+ and TDog never failed once on interrupt. And my TDog isn't that strong.

The only ways you’ll get caught out (assuming Cripple is fixed and not multiplied by Lucky) is…

    1) if you overwatch a stun-resistant enemy, Razor activates and Interrupt doesn’t

    2) if you overwatch anything, Razor doesn’t activate and neither does cripple

There should be a 26.5% chance of failing to prevent an attack from a stun-resistant enemy (20% chance with 20% Lucky in your build), and 6.2% chance of failing to prevent an attack from a stunnable enemy (4.6% chance with 20% Lucky in your build)

These numbers get worse if your bruiser has Weakening.
