LS bugs allowing ridiculous scores

It's been circulating widely by now that it is possible to exploit certain bugs to get ridiculous score on Last Stand. The method of exploiting the bug has been tested and confirmed.

I personally have spent a lot of tools and 200 gold to repeat LS twice, and managed to get #9 spot before the exploit method circulates. It will be a shame if the bug exploits render my tools and gold investment a waste.

@Lexia @Fluxxx is there any way you guys can close the exploit or at very least have some stop gap (eg, manually kicking people out of LB who exploited the bug)? This is cookies week and if you do nothing SOON, won't be long before there will be scramble for top score by exploiting the bug. It will be madness.

It’s one thing to “cheat” to get above maximum
stars in challenge - that -

1. Gives you no extra rewards
2. you don’t take away rewards from deserving players

and It’s completely another thing to cheat in last stand

as it stands I am already pushed out of top 10 by highly suspicious scores, reached roughly 2 hours after the exploit spread.

It is very demotivating. I hope you can act fast.

Nope! What about my 200 gold and a few boxes of tools? Somebody gonna refund that?

and the time I spent playing it?

IMO at least 2 months ban for everyone abusing the bug, and permanent ban for the 3-4 players abusing it AFTER my first post above (around the time the exploit method was spread publicly)

And readjustment of LB and proper rewarding of players who played clean

It makes no sense...
Unless some intervention from NGs side within few hours I'll also do some "smart" runs before I loosing chance for good amount of Cookies.

Come on @Lexia @Fluxxx you got to do something. It’s been a day and I’ve been pushed from no 5 before the bug began to be abused to no 18 now. As I predicted it’s a mad scramble to the top by pointlessly exploiting the bug.

if you punish some people for some stupid challenge star bugs that don’t alter the game - and you’re doing nothing about this significant game altering bugs - that’s beyond unfair. That’s just completely ridiculous.

This Is very demotivating.

Yes I realize that which makes it a full work day passing with nothing being done, and more and more people run the exploit. And now people are thinking - if 15 people already did that - why shouldn’t I?

By the time Finland wakes up that 15 will turn to 20, 30, and then what? Should I also join up the cheaters? Should I not? Is it cheating or is it not cheating?

@ZXer NG will do what NG does, from past experiences, NG doesn't rush into things, they will gather data, discuss, then make decision. So my advice is to relax and let NG do what NG does and not worry about it. Just because you don't see anything doesn't mean anything isn't being done.

Just don't spend tools or try hard for top places on the Last Stand leaderboard until it's resolved and you'll be fine.

@Lexia I don't worry about getting banned - I even want to ban myself from the game to be honest with you.

I spent 200 gold and countless of tools to get cookies token, just as many other players do this week. And maybe like 3 hours playing Last Stand - a game mode I don't exactly like. For what? Cookies tokens.

There are a lot of affected players in this. I am the most vocal here, but, there are dozens or even hundreds also voicing dissatisfaction ("getting pissed off" may be a better word) about the way NG handles this problem.

1. At the very least - the leaderboard needs to be fixed. I don't care about the table itself - I do care about the rewards. I should be in top 10. Or top 20 for the very least. You want to keep the punishments secret? Fine. Give me the 650 cookies tokens that I deserve. And to be fair, perhaps to every other player scoring 6 million + with no cheating.

2. On the other hand. It should be good for the forum to know that cheating isn't tolerated with a slap in the hand like a 24 hour bans. Which is fine for some innocent infractions like getting more stars than max in challenge. They don't get extra rewards and they don't steal rewards from other deserving players. But if it hasn't dawned on you - the severity of this bug exploit is far greater than that. Here, cheaters actually take things that don't belong to them from people spending honest efforts in the game. It would be good to know that no cheaters will - at the very least - receive no cookies tokens this week.

Thieves shouldn't get away with their stolen goods.

3. If you have additional punishment, and as you say - these actions aren't for public information. Sure. I can see why this is necessary, and I can live with that.

But the 2 points above - I think those are very important to a lot of people spending honest effort in the game.

Notifying here as well - we've just posted an in-game news on the Challenge as well as about the bug with Walker Mike. Since the fix to Walker Mike requires an update, we made a small change directly instead that will prevent your survivors from taking burning damage from attacking burning enemies. This will counter the bug for now, until it's fixed in the next update.

There is also a 2 day booster bundle waiting for everyone in the shop. Possible to claim until Monday 9.1.2023 1PM UTC.

@Lexia sorry but that does not address my issue. There’s a lot of gold and tools I had already spent for 650 cookies. What I am asking here is that you revoke the cookies from those who don’t deserve and credit those who do deserve.

@Lexia is the booster compensation really the only option you guys could provide? I, like many others, are done for the week as challenge is completed. The booster to “compensate” really does nothing, especially since it expires before the new week starts anyway. So I could activate last minute and maybe save a bit of gas on the distance Monday? Not great…

I would also say that turning off burn damage to try and “temporarily rectify” an exposed bug is weak as well. Even with no burn damage, no one will come close to those scores

Agreed that the booster pack for both this and the Challenge issue of 7 rounds is not nearly enough. I also burned through tools to get the missions completed in 7 rounds. Free gas and double xp when I've already completed Challenge, LS and Distance is more than a bit useless. At the minimum, we should get a tool pack and/or gold.
