Actually, disregard above. Just remembered I could update the app cache from the iOS store (App Store>updates tab>pull down with finger). That fixed the problem, if anyone else runs into similar.

Ok, so what happens when I click my settings, it shows version 2.9, the App Store (iOS 11 or greater) doesn’t prompt me to Update, only Open, and I can play the game - but none of the new features are there and it continually bugs me that game features are locked and I should update within 8 days to claim my free gift?…

Done. I also didn’t get all of the other badges for season 8, even though I completed the challenges and posted in the respective threads, which haven’t been closed. Is it only good for that week, or is there some kind of catch up when the thread is closed? Just asking, not complaining.
