I still don’t understand this logic. Why not just stay where you were and not use tools and take the losses by tool using guilds?

I understand the frustration of GW becoming “Tool” Wars, but it seems to me that just staying where you are and NOT using tools is the simplest solution. I have no pics but I can say I had no legendary survivors before they introduced the tokens. I went somewhere around 1 1/2 years before having a 5*.
